Why was a Ukraine commercial airlines making a stopover in Iran?
Why were 63 Canadian’s on such a flight?
Who got off and on that flight from within Iran?
If it was simply a refueling stopover why Iran?

The Iranians were expecting a response from the US and may have removed the “safety” before they should have, but these things happen in the fog of comment.
As a young infantryman in Viet Nam I was on a patrol when we were fired on and we returned fire only to discover it was another American patrol. Death by friendly fire more often then you may think.

I think the shooting down of the airliner is one of the reasons why Iran went so quiet so quickly. They decided to quit while they were way behind until the world turned its attention elsewhere.
How sad, to think all their hopes and dreams gone just like that, depressing.
Maybe it had a transponder from an American F-4 and they thought it was going to attack them.
I grieve for the passengers and crew, but especially the children.
