Increasingly impatient Senate Democrats have started speaking out about their desire for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to turn over impeachment articles.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Politico that House Democrats “should move on” and send the articles to the Senate.
“I think [the trial] needs to start, I really do. I can’t tell the House how to do their business. I would never try to tell Speaker Pelosi … Let us do what we have to do over here,” the red-state Democrat told a Washington Post reporter.
He also acknowledged that Pelosi’s holdout did accomplish one thing: pushing former national security adviser John Bolton to publicly admit his willingness to testify.

The GOP here keeps running poor candidates against him is the primary answer. Also Manchin is a good politician when it comes to election campaigning. He had no accomplishments to run on last time and the GOP served up a boring personality who was not a native son. That is very important in Appalachia! That hurt Matt Bevins in Kentucky. If you’re a “son-of-the-holler” even if your a “son-of-a-bitch” people at first blush will prefer you over an out-of-stater. (Unless you’re rich! - like Rockefeller.)

I think you have accurately characterized what happened with Peach Mint / the Embassy / Soleimani.
And much of that was to get the failed Texas Church Massacre off of the front pages.

The current governor is a good example of that. Coal Baron (and by owning the Greenbrier a resort baron.) had a terrible terrible business ethics reputation. Switched from Republican to Rat in order to get elected. Switched back to GOP when Trump got in office.

If she waits much longer, the Senate will rule that the House failed to bring a timely case, and consider the articles moot.
I’m fine with Bolton testifying.
The worst he can say is that he believes President Trump abused his power to extort the Ukrainians for personal gain, and NOT in the interest of national security.
In other words, just another opinion regarding the President’s motives.
There is really no proof of a crime that John Bolton could possibly have.....unless the President was caught on camera boasting about it....and nobody would be dumb enough to do that.

This would give the rats the green light to have their televised parade of BS witnesses come in and shove knives into Trump and retreat to their safe spaces in the MSM. We really don’t want that. Bolton has every intent to inflict as much damage as he can or wouldn’t have pulled this stunt. No Trump will not be removed but I see a slight chance for enough damage for a bipartisan vote to convict and the rats would use it as a club throughout the 20 campaign.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised - Bolton may be a butt hurt anti Trump globalist neocon, but he hates the Democrats even more.

When your enemies get the wrong data that you are weak and on the way out in this world, your country is put into a weaken spot.
That can cause a lot of problems for us and our enemies.
There's no talk that they'll break on their votes. But it was embarrassing for Nancy that a sizable number abandoned her on the withholding the impeachment bill strategy.
The vote in the Senate, if it happens, will be strictly party line, with maybe Manchin and Romney trading places.
