Pressure building on Pelosi over articles of impeachment (IMPEACHMENT HELD HOSTAGE - DAY 22)

**SNIP**

Senate Democrats are now discussing what remaining tools they have at their disposal to pressure Trump.

One idea is for Pelosi to send over only one of the two articles of impeachment - the one charging Trump with obstruction of Congress. Trying that charge in the Senate would not require the testimony of witnesses Democrats want to appear, such as former national security adviser John Bolton and acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney.

That move would allow Pelosi to initiate an impeachment trial while holding back the article alleging abuse of power until Senate Republicans say they are willing to subpoena witnesses and documents.

Pelosi made no mention Wednesday about her intended timing, but she has scheduled a press conference for 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

She could also send over half an article on the BOGO plan.

Saw the San Fran Gran Nan spitting at a reporter simply asking about the transmission timeline. The Super Poligrip did it's job very well. More than just Botox cracks are now popping up.

The “Obstruction of Congress” charge is totally bogus.

Pres. Trump was merely asserting his legal rights, this joke “charge” should never have been approved in the first place.

This is political persecution, nothing less

Speaking to reporters, Schumer defended Pelosi when asked whether it’s time for her to relent and let the Senate trial start. She “is doing a very good job,” Schumer said. “She is seeking our ability to get witnesses and evidence.”

Did Schumer just admit the House impeached without any evidence?

Maybe they want to wait until November so they can say Trump is still under impeachment. That win over some uninformed voters. It’s all about rigging the 2020 election anyway.

Its a non starter. Any article not submitted will be dismissed with prejudice. Democrats can’t have half a loaf on impeachment. Its all or nothing.

If the House Democrats try that trick, the Senate should inform them, it won’t open a trial until ALL articles have been submitted.

Any fraud or deception on the part of House Democrats will be immediate grounds for dismissal with prejudice and result in a directed vote of acquittal of the President.

Democrats shouldn’t try any underhanded maneuver. It will backfire on them and destroy what little credibility they have with both the Senate and the court of public opinion.

Don’t do it.

Has anyone checked on the state of decay of Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

If the 'Ratz have to admit the inability of RBG to perform her duties then they could "reasonably" argue that an impeached President should be denied the right to appoint a replacement.

Just a thought.

Sorry, Nancy, it’s your own fault for jumping the gun on the hearings on your end. You can’t keep those articles hostage until October surprises.

It does not matter what Nan sends over there will be no witnesses called. Each side will present their case then a vote will be taken on whether to call witnesses. The nays will have it and then the Senate will vote to acquit. If They didn’t call witnesses on Clinton they won’t call them on Trump.

McConnell can change the senate rules and start the trial any time he wants.

Well you are right and McConnell has already decided to use the 1999 senate rules that were used in the Clinton impeachment. Each side presents its case and then the senate votes on whet to call witnesses. Of course they will vote no and move to acquit.
