Good morning. I'm pleased to inform you: The American people should be extremely grateful and happy no Americans were harmed in last nights attack by the Iranian regime.
...
For far too long -- all the way back to 1979, to be exact -- nations have tolerated Irans destructive and destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and beyond. Those days are over. Iran has been the leading sponsor of terrorism, and their pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens the civilized world. We will never let that happen.
Last week, we took decisive action to stop a ruthless terrorist from threatening American lives. At my direction, the United States military eliminated the worlds top terrorist, Qasem Soleimani. As the head of the Quds Force, Soleimani was personally responsible for some of the absolutely worst atrocities.
He trained terrorist armies, including Hezbollah, launching terrorist strikes against civilian targets. He fueled bloody civil wars all across the region. He viciously wounded and murdered thousands of U.S. troops, including the planting of roadside bombs that maim and dismember their victims.
Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that badly wounded four service members and killed one American, and orchestrated the violent assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In recent days, he was planning new attacks on American targets, but we stopped him.
...
In recent months alone, Iran has seized ships in international waters, fired an unprovoked strike on Saudi Arabia, and shot down two U.S. drones.
Irans hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying "thank you" to the United States, they chanted "death to America." In fact, they chanted "death to America" the day the agreement was signed.

The audio I have heard sounds as if President Trump was very tired or perhaps under the weather. Has there been any official explanation of why this was? Was he up half the night trying to determine everyone was safe and then crafting a speech?
From a liberal perspective, the reason they stepped up terrorist attacks after the Iran deal is because we didn’t look weak enough and give them more money. Next time we’ll give them a trillion dollars and offer more Americans as human sacrifices.
Tired probably. The guy works hard.
Objectively for me, it was a good, measured, calm and statesman-like speech that did a lot to soothe the nervousness of everyone worried about war.
He also made a clear distinction between our enemies — the evil Mullahs who rule Iran and the Iranian people themselves, who we wish for nothing but friendship and their prosperity.
It also gave warning to the Iranian powers that be that we aren’t going to tolerate any s**t from them if they kill Americans and will use the full military might of the USA if needed.
He clearly said that America does not want war, but peace, but will not hesitate in defending herself when push comes to shove.
Contrary to the talking heads of the mainstream media, Trump is NOT a trigger-happy war-monger.
All in all, a very good speech that accomplished ALL of his objectives.
He does the work of 100 men.
Of course, if every 100 men did the work of one Trump we could mostly turn America around in 5 years.
They omitted his opening statement that IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON! Convenient?
In fact, Obama got a phone call...telling him of the hit in Benghazi...said to stand down....and he flew off to Las Vegas.
What a difference a President makes.
Thank you President Trump.
I did that by mistake. Sorry
The MOST important part of the speech - which MSM are trimming off — is the first sentence, before he even says Good Morning:
“As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon”.
Those words were positioned at the beginning for a reason. He could not be making it more clear to the world, Iran in particular, that this is the red line that will be enforced with the full force of the US military if need be.
Iranians should be soiling their raiments today, because they now know they cannot accomplish the goal they have been working for and that they will die if they try.
Can we get
The Cash Back???
/$
I did that by mistake. Sorry
Brave woman tears down a “Death to America” poster.
The crowd is heard chanting, “Death to the dictator,” in a reference to @Khamenei_ir.
Iranians have no enmity against the U.S. or the American people.
This is a 40-year lie promoted by the mullahs only. #IranProtests

They thought the impeachment prevented POTUS from taking any serious action. They were wrong!!
I am surprised that Trump did not have the military destroy the sited from where the missiles were fired within Iran.
However, I am sure he got phone calls all last night from Russia, Brittan, France, Germany, China, Japan, etc. asking him to not retaliate.
I hope that the EU countries tell Iran that either it negotiates a new deal (with teeth and inspections) or the old UN sanctions go back into place and it faces economic crisis.
That would be a good way to end this situation.
The sentence is there.
Iran will never be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.
Now why would they do that?
I did that by mistake. Sorry.
Thought it was a sub-title because it came before the salutation.
