The Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), at the Israel Ministry of Defense revealed that a technological breakthrough has been achieved in the development of lasers for the interception of RAM (rocket, mortar, and artillery) threats, UAVs, and ATGMs
Head of the Directorate of Research and Development in the DDR&D, Brig. Gen. Yaniv Rotem stated: We are entering a new age of energy warfare in the air, land and sea. The R&D investments made by the DDR&D in the last years have placed the State of Israel among the leading countries in the field of high-energy laser systems. Throughout the year 2020 we will conduct a demo of our capabilities.

Are you one of those people who post answers to questions on Amazon with “I don’t know”???
Reagan was playing poker with Gorby. He got him to fold with a pair of 5s.
Amazon has a place for asking questions?
No new sharks needed Bull sharks not only tolerate freshwater they actively live in it. Bull sharks have been caught as far inland as Livingston dam on the trinity river in Texas many miles from the ocean. Also in Australia Bull sharks are routinely caught up their rivers where tthey kill live stock wading in the water at times. For an eoic video Google bull shark vs salt water crocodile which also live up rivers in fresh or salt waters.

Bull shark caught in the Mississippi river at ST LOUIS! yup Bull sharks are some no crap predators.
If they can withstand the Mississippi, they can withstand the Rio Grande. Capture two males and two females, keep them alive in the back of a truck somehow, and transport them to Texas. CW2 will get very interesting. Trump must know nothing about it.
Gators can also be encouraged to nest at the border, too. Lasers optional.
Huh? A year-long, sustained demonstration? Is this a Babel translation from Hebrew?
You mean you just don't wave it around? Hmmmmmmmm.....
Maybe they’re going to local fairs, and they have a carnival-barker touting the virtues of the new defensive system, daring anyone to get anything past it. “Step right up and test the amazing new system. It’ll stop missiles, mortars, ICBMS and fast balls. Ah, yes. Yes. Yes, indeed. You, young man! Would you like to try your luck? I promise a hundred dollars to anyone who can penetrate the amazing Laser-blocker brought to us by our Israeli friends across the sea. Ah, yes! Step right up and see if you can win $100.”
Or perhaps within a precisely calculated cone of entry? Expecting it to only intercept at one point and no others would be a bit limited. So everything with a trajectory and direction that makes impact with your protected area likely gets zapped. If it’s another stupid sewer-pipe missile from Ghaza and it’s heading for an open field, it would ignore it. But if it’s heading for Sderot or Be’er Sheva...ZAP!
Ah, perhaps a “series of demos in a variety of locales.”
Thank you.
p
that would require genetically engineering a whole new species of sharks
Nope.

Can you slew the barrel of the laser fast enough to keep up with the relative angular change of the incoming projectile? Can you do it well enough that the total energy delivered by the laser will (say) roughen or penetrate the airframe, at which point the friction of the projectile at hypervelocity will finish the job for you? (or at least maybe screw up the CEP if you have a tungsten penetrator)
Windmills and solar panels will not be enough to power these rigs 24x7.
What to do....
Get flying carp from the Midwest.
