Iran is refusing to hand over the black box of the crashed Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 to Boeing, the head of Tehran’s civil aviation organisation was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
Ali Abedzadeh also said it was not clear which country Iran would send the box to so that its data could be analysed, semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Ukraine's Tehran embassy initially blamed engine failure but later removed the statement.

Iran has all of these Quds Force irregulars running around heavily armed. I am sure many of them have MANPADS.
That’s the problem when you put Surface-to-Air missiles in the hands of civilians. No coordinated control.
My best guess is that some militiaman was not aware that regular flights were in the area, and fired at what he thought was a US aircraft. Just another consequence of Iran’s At-War-But-Not-Really-At-War posture.
Not moving fast enough to be a missile. It is moving slowly, like an aircraft. The flame is not exhaust, but because the aircraft is on fire.
Any missile showing that much exhaust would be going supersonic, and would look like a streak across the sky at that altitude.
It was a 737-8, apparently. Not a 737 MAX.
Besides, the 737 MAX would not catch fire and crash. It would just crash itself, fully intact.
I aw something on another thread that indicated the plane had been in service for a few years, so it wasn’t “new” enough to be a 737 Max. Besides, the usual problem with the Max doesn’t involve being on fire during descent.
It’s all just coincidence. Everything is coincidence. #FusionCollusion, Ukraine, Epstein, Iran, Mexican Cartels, none of these things has any relationship to any of the others. Go back to sleep. Nothing to see here.

Yes, as a matter of fact. Why isn’t Iran turning over the black boxes?
1) Pride. They don’t want to admit that a stone aged culture needs the help of a civilized country.
2) Lack of personal integrity. They think everyone has their lack of character, and that the Great Satan can’t be trusted to tell the truth.
Of course, given Boeing’s corporate activities in connection with the MAX, I’m not sure I’d trust them either at this point.
It looked like a pretty big explosion, so the boxes are probably badly damaged, but the Russians or French might be able to do something with them.

Sounds like a shoulder-fired heat-seeking missile to me. That will start a fire, real good.
That is the problem with arming irregulars with shoulder-fired heat-seeking missiles. They might just fire the damn things.
The questions was whether this was a 737 MAX, which has a tendency to crash itself in response to erroneous instrument readings. It was not one of those. And even if it was one of those, it would not have been on fire on the way down, if it followed the same profile as the last two 737 MAX crashes.
The two 737 MAX crashes were CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain). It just wasn't the pilots in control!

the video is really weird. This guy doesn’t show any emotion. I suspect he was following the burning plane, (I agree it was a plane on fire, not a missle), and therefore it looks like the plane was on fire right after take off. Even if one engine were on fire, you could still fly.
Sure looks like something took out that plane, either from inside or outside.
