Video on the twitter thread posted above from Al-Hadath hosted by The Telegraph in London clearly shows a SAM launch from the ground followed by an orange flash in the sky and then the fireball of impact on the ground.
This was a missile.
Who in their right mind would think it a good idea to be flying commercial over Iran last night?
The video you cite is clearly marked in the upper right hand corner as being shot in “2014”. Other commenters point out that it appears to be video of a Russian SAM downing a Ukranian airliner from 6 years ago.
Al Hadath is apparently not a reliable (a Saudi funded anti-Iranian) source. So until we know more, we should withhold judgment.
Watch. Its going to be spun to blame Trump.
” . . . shows a SAM launch from the ground followed by an orange flash in the sky and then the fireball of impact on the ground.”
So they’re trying to say it wasn’t a spark setting off residual fuel vapors in an empty center fuel tank?
Shows a plane already on fire going down, and lights that could be either cars on the ground or another aircraft off in the distance. There is no clear flare of a missile rising up to hit the plane in this video. Making sense of night time video of aicraft can be confusing.
Perhaps El Supremo was trying to get OUT of Iran.

Yeah. I think I’d sooner book a Malaysian Airlines flight to the ISS.
That’s not a SAM launch.
That’s the plane being on fire, the fireball before the terminal plunge was probably what was left of the wing coming off
