They’re backing off a little holding a sneak play to bring out the confiscation in a slow walk.
They will get the state law in place and then organize to confiscate slowly, cherry picking their opportunities. which will include false flags ... suicide school shooters, etc.
They want to avoid the optics of 2nd A supporters staring down state enforcers and possibly National Guard in an election year.

Many ask why there aren’t already lawsuits, There are no lawsuits yet because the anti-gun legislation hasn’t been signed into law.
But lawsuits will take a year and more. That puts gun confiscation into the sights of Democrats leading up to the Election.
But Pelosi’s Democrats want to impeach Trump and Schiff predictably says Pence is in the crosshairs for removal.
Yes, there’s a scheme in play for Democrats to install Pelosi as President who will immediately order the US Army to put down any insurrection and to follow with a harsh politically correct policy that when violated leads to branding dissenters as domestic terrorists.
But today McConnell makes a call for Pelosi to show her cards. And the Iran diversion (Yes, it’s connected) fizzles. Now Norham and his Sugar Daddy Bloomberg are slithering back from taking Ameriican’s guns.

Strawman argument. What he does have planned is registration of “assault weapons”, and if the owner doesn’t do that, then they make him a felon and seize all his firearms. They also want to ban >10 round magazines, and if caught with one, seize all firearms. They also want to screw with CHP reciprocity, transport of firearms in an open carry state, shut gun ranges, and allow local exemptions.
None of these things have anything to do with crime, except by making a million Virginians criminals.

If we compromise with socialists, we move half way toward socialism. If we later compromise with them, we are 75 percent there. They know what they are doing and history proves they have done this in the past. They always say their actions are for our own protection.
Look at the anschluss in Austria. First the Nazis had everyone register their weapons due to “criminal activity” and later they had everyone turn in their weapons due to criminal activity. A short time later they exported the mentally ill to camps and then they started on the other less desirable Austrians to include the Jews.
