Well, we survived.
Northam did everything he could to try to stoke violence.
He DID put up fencing, and there were security checkpoints to get inside the fenced-in area.
But we had our huge rally, and people filled the inside without guns, and the outside with guns.
ONE arrest. Someone didn’t take off a mask. No violence.
And the only thing bad they are saying about the rally is “there were not quite as many people as were predicted”.
So, while none of the rational threats you were worried about came about, I believe because of sound planning by the organizers and the police, and while the protest itself gave the media nothing to spin for Northam (other than their ridiculous claim that it was only peaceful because he put up fences).....
THe call for people to stay away, to the degree it was heeded, provided our enemies with the ONE story they can use against us, that we didn’t show up in as big a number as they feared.
I don’t remember if you counted this as one of your possible issues, and then discounted it as less likely than your other ones.
And the only thing bad they are saying about the rally is there were not quite as many people as were predicted.
One important thing to learn from this: stop listening to, and believing, the enemys propaganda.
In fact, I am sure the “official estimate” is wrong, and it was even stated in a way to show it is wrong. They counted specifically the people who were in the area where you’d want to watch the speakers, a large space but not massive.
But with the security and fencing, it wasn’t big enough for everybody. Also, a lot of people stayed outside, and there wasn’t enough room for them in the area behind the fencing.
So, a lot of people were stuck on streets all around the event, and the people who counted said they did not count people on the streets. Probably as many people in the streets are were inside the fencing and behind the fencing.
Bump for internet prediction verification. FR needs a timer type button to ping everyone back to threads where divergent predictions are made and the event in question occurs one way or the other. In the age of the internet and 24 hour news cycle, predictions tend to fall into memory holes.
