UPRISING: Hundreds Of ‘First Time’ Pro-Gun Activists Flood NRA Town Hall In Virginia (Roanoke)
Daily Wire ^ | January 04, 2020 | Ryan Saavedra

Posted on 01/05/2020 7:47:24 PM PST by Perseverando

Hundreds of pro-gun political activists showed up to an NRA town hall in Roanoke, Virginia, on Friday night as the backlash continues to grow over the plans by Virginia Democrats to enact their far-left agenda aimed at decimating Second Amendment rights.

Sources told The Daily Wire that up to 400 people attended the event, many of whom were women and first time political activists.

The event comes as Virginia Democrats attempt to confiscate legally-owned firearms from law abiding citizens in a move that resembles what communist China has called on the U.S. to do in recent days. China has millions of people locked up in concentration camps, is engaged in forcefully harvesting the organs of detainees, and has instituted a massive surveillance state that it is using to clamp down on the freedoms of its citizens.

The Daily Wire reported last month:

The grassroots resistance to Virginia Democrats’ extreme anti-Second Amendment agenda has exploded as nearly 90% of the counties in the state have declared themselves to be sanctuary cities in response to the Democrats’ anti-freedom agenda.

More than 100 cities, towns, and counties have passed resolutions in preparation for Democrats taking over the state who had indicated a desire to confiscate semi-automatic firearms from law-abiding citizens.

The rapidly growing resistance to Democrats’ attempts to confiscate firearms is expected to reach new levels in a little over a week as thousands of pro-gun Virginians are planning to attend the NRA’s legislative action day in Richmond on January 13.

The event is being held on the 13th at the Virginia State Capitol because that is when the first hearings on the issue start in the Virginia State Senate.

Last night, hundreds of NRA members joined shoulder to shoulder in Roanoke, Virginia to discuss how they will stand and fight against the Northam/Bloomberg gun confiscation plan.

— NRA (@NRA) January 4, 2020

Catherine Mortensen, NRA spokesperson, told The Daily Wire, “We believe it’s best when lawmakers talk directly to voters. We know that NRA members are active and engaged in grassroots activism. The more people out there and sharing the message, that’s a win.”

“The 13th is the first meeting of the Senate Courts of Justice committee. That’s the first committee of jurisdiction on all the Northam gun control,” Mortensen continued. “We want to make sure that our members and supporters are in Richmond at that committee hearing on that day so that their voices are heard. It’s critical that our members are there early in the session to make the biggest impact in order to stop these gun bills from moving forward.”

“We’re trying to get our members directly to their lawmakers. We want our members and supporters having those face-to-face meetings with their lawmakers,” Mortensen added. “We know that law-abiding gun owners are active and engaged. And they may be members of several different groups. This gives them additional opportunities to engage in grassroots activism, and that is all positive. If numerous groups are out there and sharing the message, that’s a win.”

“The NRA is focused on encouraging our members and supporters to be active and engaged with their legislators from the first day of the session to the last,” Mortensen concluded. “The NRA will have a strong presence at the Capitol throughout the legislative session, but we know it’s the voice and the presence of our members that carry the most weight with lawmakers.”

Exactly. You get 5000 well armed gun owners to decend on the capital, and there ain’t much anyone can do. Submit an “either or bill”. Either support the 2nd Amendment and protect citizens rights to bare arm or resign now, because you won’t like the 3rd option! Soon more gun rights owners will defend and there no force that will be wiling to take them on, since most will be ex-milatary

A few folks without salt and pepper everywhere, maybe a few Asians, a few more blacks, some filipinos, you know; perhaps a more realistic cross section of NRA members, as opposed to the Santa Claus-grandpa brigade I see in this photo.

With no mechanism for recall, some may decide to take matters in hand. Much faster than an impeachment process.

They also contribute to politicians much more than the young crowd.

not only that. they more likely comprehend the Bill of Rights, and are willing to sacrifice to defend them...

They also volunteer to work for candidates’ campaigns more than the young and pretty.

There is a lot in that picture that should give the gun grabbers pause to reflect on their sins.

Read and interesting article that said if this would be the first civil war with millions of 2nd Amendment folks that can shoot an accurate shot out to 600-1000 meters.

I'm in the military, I can tell you the military is not coming for anyones guns. Most are pro gun themselves and recognize and unlawful order.

I was speaking of legal recourse which must be the first option.

As both of you stated there are extralegal options. Some involve hemp neckties, others involve tar, feathers and fence rails.
Then there are floggings, public stocks, cells with bread and water diets, the possibilities are near endless.
These options become viable when the legal recourse is unsatisfying.

in a civil war, how do you suspect one would identify the enemy at 600-1000 meters?

Ask Rick Perry R. Gov. Texas about state mandated vaccinations of young girls for HPV and follow the pharmaceutical money trail back to one of his staffers.

People who didn’t give a hoot for politics jumped on Perry. I thought they might burn the govs mansion again and then hunt down Perry and plug him with his own coyote pistol. This was the right response.

Ask Rick Perry R. Gov. Texas...

the hpv fiasco sunk perry's career, exposed his nanny-state-ism...

They are clearly violating the US Constitution under 2A, 4A, and 5A rights. Because of this an argument could be made that all of these democrats should be removed pursuant to the specifications in the 3rd Article of the 14A. Just a Thought.

Evidently your not familar with modern optics.

There would have to be teams sent out for confiscation, organizations easy to see. Not sure who's stupid enough to think they can actually confiscate anything and survive past day 1 and have their family survive too.
