The director Terry Gilliam has invited renewed backlash after repeating his claim that he is a black lesbian in transition, assailing the #MeToo movement as a witch-hunt and asserting that some of Harvey Weinsteins alleged victims are adults who made choices.
The website PinkNews offered swift condemnation, calling the 79-year-olds comments a feeble attempt to prove that white men are the real victims.

Gilliam said he was tired, as a white male, of being blamed for everything that is wrong with the world.
On to the #MeToo movement, he said: I want people to take responsibility and not just constantly point a finger at somebody else, saying, Youve ruined my life.
He continued: #MeToo is a witch-hunt. I really feel there were a lot of people, decent people, or mildly irritating people, who were getting hammered. Thats wrong. I dont like mob mentality.
The director saved his most inflammatory comments for Weinstein, the former movie producer who faces trial on criminal sexual assault charges in New York next week.

> How many SJWs does it take to change a light bulb? <
Three. One to call the landlord to change the lightbulb. Because her daddy wasn’t there, and never taught her how. And two others to console her over her fear of Trump.
Exactly.
I always ask Leftists if people in the rest of the world using electricity, the light bulb, the telephone, the airplane, television, antibiotics, railroads, the internal combustion engine and practically everything else in the world aren’t guilty of “cultural appropriation”. Afterall....all of those and much more were invented by White Men.
They never have a good answer for that.
Actually, the answer is, “That’s not funny. Where’s my safe space?”
But I like your answer.
That's my sentiment also. Everyone knew about the casting couch... even in Small Town USA.
My concern is the very young actors, the little children.
My friend's son was approached about becoming an actor. He's a gorgeous blond boy. I asked him if he's gay. He was repulsed at my question. I told him that the first acting he'll have to learn is to fake being gay. Kid didn't like that. He now works in the Post Office.
I just tell people, I’m white, and I’m proud to be part of a race that every minority on the face of the earth wants to be! . Let’s see how stupid you are against my superior white intelligence. Oh and I conceal carry and love Trump.
Personal observations, and I’m a woman.
The supervision requirements for youth groups has two deep (or more) leadership everywhere. Two men or two women aren’t enough. If there are girls present, there are almost always at least 2 men AND 2 women. Even if it is just 5 kids.
The paranoia that’s driving the Pence rule to become standard operating procedure is reasonable, given the rate of false allegations. The fake rape accusation rate for men who faced criminal charges is 5%, the highest rate of fake accusations - but that’s only for cases that went to the police with formal charges. When there’s no consequence such as false allegations in the workplace to hurt the man who rejected you or the boss you’re afraid will fire you, I know the rate is much higher.
And I’ve encountered this personally. I am in a tech field, and I met a family member for lunch at his place of work since I was in the area. (We have different last names.) I met him and was introduced as a professional colleague, and we’re going to lunch. A senior engineer freaked, you can’t go out with a woman at work - “Wait, wait, she’s family. And she doesn’t work here.” His response? Family, that’s OK.
he’s absolutely right about weinstein. Some of the women he ‘victimized’ were not victims at all.
This comment has strengthened my resolve to buy the remastered blurays of their four seasons (even though Season 4 was horrible without John Cleese).
By this time most anyone should be we the the Lavender Inquisition.
God bless ya Terry!
Expecting ... how auto correct got we the I will never know.
She turned him into a newt.
The casting couch works both ways and some women know how to use it to their benefit.Weinstein certainly took advantage of women but it's also likely some women used Weinstein to their advantage.
This reminds me of a book I read about the history of Disney, with the 2nd half of the book focusing on CEO Michael Eisner. Ron Miller, who was CEO before Eisner, was fired. There was all kinds of politics with Roy E. Disney and influential board members but the reason given for his impending firing was that he was being seen drinking alcohol at too many Hollywood cocktail parties, which violates a conduct clause of his contract and sullies the Disney image.
At a pivotal corporate board meeting, he told them, "Fine, I'll stay home and not drink anymore. Anything else you want? Maybe you should've told me 6 years ago that this was a problem instead of sneaking around building a rap-sheet on me." When it became obvious that the firing was going through, he went off on the board, "Really, you guys are hitting me on conduct when fully half of you are homosexuals who are snorting coke with boys and then buggering them in the back seats of your sports cars? That's some fine conduct, wanna talk about that? If that's how it is, don't bother firing me, I want nothing to do with you. My lawyer will be in touch." He was right.
For post #18: in addition to the money they made, they’re media darlings and the world just love love loves them. Victims, eh? You stop being a victim when you do it longer than your kids have been alive. As for the number of them that get their kids into the business, what is more sleazy than pimping out your kids?
Bingo!
I remember the good old days, when you could still laugh at Andrew Dice Clay jokes and nobody cared.
