the Iran regime is backed into a corner and they are not the type to back down. The Iranian people are caught in the middle. Israel is in danger and maritime oil shipments are open targets. I am sure Iran has a bloodlust for one of our carriers
the iranians can’t do crap to a flattop. we tried to sink one in 2005 and failed. they have worms, but they won’t be a real threat. understand the next round will entail taking out iranian military sites, oil refineries, and then critical infrastructure. The other possibility is partitioning iraqi and iranian kurdish areas (eventually syrian and turkish as well) into a greater kurdistan. We live in interesting times, 2 fer, no Iranian oil hurts china the most.
The Iranian regime wants to survive period. They can choose to attack the US, but we control the consequences. The Iranians are no match for us militarily. Not even close. In a few hours we can wipe out their port facilities, oil fields, refineries, electrical grid, command and control, etc. Their already collapsing economy would be finished.
Hence the Iranians will not back up their bluster. Remember Baghdad Bob and the threats that the rivers would run red with American blood? The mother of all wars? The Iran-Iraq war lasted 8 years with neither side being able to mount a real offensive. Iran is a third rate military power. Any attack against the US would be akin to committing national suicide. Trump has taken the gloves off.

Iran has no military capability to do any damage to us as long as we are ready and expecting them to try something. Anything they attempt now will only result in the loss of whatever meager capabilities they have now, or in the complete collapse of their economy. The most likely end result of any attempt to attack our military would be a massive revolution starting in their country.
They can commit terrorist acts against unsuspecting targets that are on a peacetime footing. They can’t take on our military and have any chance at success.
The truth is that Iran is finished, and will BEG for peace.
