When you purchase a firearm from a FFL, one of the questions on the form pertains to drug use. I believe marijuana use would preclude someone from being able to purchase a firearm.

Which is absolutely true, just as alcohol possession is not a threat to public safety. If someone is drunk/high and disorderly, arrest them for that.
