Pope Francis has apologized after he appeared to lose his cool when a woman violently grabbed his hand while he greeted pilgrims at the Vatican on New Year’s Eve.
A video that went viral on Twitter showed an unidentified woman abruptly grabbing Francis’ hand from behind a barrier and yanking him towards her just after he reached out to greet a child during a visit to the Vatican’s nativity scene on Tuesday night.
It seemed like the woman would not release Francis’ hand, so the pontiff slapped her hand before pulling his free. Frowning in anger, he turned and strode away.

He's not a normal person, he's the head of the entire Catholic world.
He's not an idolized rock star, he's a spokesperson for God and Jesus. You think Jesus would have reacted in the same way?
Then he needs to blame the culture of Catholicism in Third World countries that teach the people that touching certain people or objects can bring about healing and blessings. I literally knew it was going to be the Asian woman before I even saw the end of the video. The pope needs to discourage superstitious beliefs in these countries before getting angry at the people who believe them.
If she yanks the Babtist leader around like that, she’ll be a Pentecostal in short order.

I had no idea who it was that grabbed him ... but immediately noticed the women that did so and “knew” it would be her ... before she did it. Spidey senses. That woman created this incident on purpose. Chinese operative???

If you think about it, he was trying to give the pilgrims (whatever) a chance to be personal with him. This person thanked him by accosting him.
At 83 people are not as agile as younger people are. People don’t know what ailments the Pope has. He could have back problems or a bad shoulder, perhaps something else.
Not trying to be picky with you, but even younger people can have health problems someone might not be aware of.
It’s always advisable to keep our hands off others.
Jesus got pretty hostile with the money changers at the temple. He overturned tables, and I would suspect there was a some physical contact between some of the tables and the people manning them. I can’t say that for certain, but there is reason to believe that righteous indignation can be acceptable.
I do not condone his language. I think that’s the part where he really blew it.
We all seem to agree that choosing this guy was a huge mistake. Sadly the church is stuck with him for a while longer.
