VA LEGISLATURE TO HOLD BUDGET HEARING ON GUN CONFISCATION THIS THURSDAY, JANUARY 2! (GOA)

Please Make Plans to Attend a Meeting and Show Your Support for 2A-Protected Rights! The state’s Democratic legislature will be holding hearings on Governor “Blackface” Northam’s anti-gun budget in four locations around the state on Thursday.

We understand that this is short notice. But it would have a significant impact if many of our members could show up and make a 3-minute statement and ask questions of the legislators in attendance.

We have to speak out, because your rights are under attack by the Governor of Virginia. Consider:

Governor “Blackface” is supporting SB 16, which would ban commonly-owned firearms in more than one million Virginia households — a ban that would even outlaw sporting weapons such as the Mossberg 930 Snow Goose. The Governor has requested $4 million and 18 law-enforcement positions to enforce his gun ban — a request that could be the preparatory steps for confiscating the guns which would be banned by SB 16. Moreover, the Governor is requesting another $3.5 million to enforce gun control that has NOT been passed by the legislature and is NOT even current law in Virginia: universal background checks, one gun a month limitations, so-called “red flag” gun confiscation orders, and more. We need to get as many pro-gun Virginians as possible to attend these meetings and demand to know if the Delegates and Senators plan to allocate money — as delineated in budget — to confiscate common, household firearms from Virginia citizens.

You can have up to three minutes to speak to the Delegates and Senators who will be in attendance. And because they sit on the appropriations committee, you might want to consider the following types of questions for them to consider:

1) The Governor is requesting $7.5 million to enforce

Good luck to all my 2nd Amendment friends in Virginia. It looks like 2020 is going to be a very "interesting" year for them, and for the rest of the USA.

VA will need to increase in a major way the funding for its state employees’ workmen’s comp program.

“show up and make a 3-minute statement and ask questions of the legislators”

Beware of those who encourage you to work within the system.

A few questions for any Virginians here...

Virginia is a commonwealth and I have read that their state structure and authorities are different than other states in that each county (and elected Sheriff) have more authority in Virginia in comparison to other states.

Is this true? If so, does the Governor and legislature have a realistic chance of implementing this without the support of county officials?

I really don’t know if these guys are all that influential but at this point in history, Northam needs to be recalled:

https://virginiaconservatives.net/recall-radical-ralph-northam

It’s important to stage tantrums to get into the news and create public support, but Northam and his enablers will continue to do what they are doing as long as they don’t think anyone can take them out of office for it.

They need to be disabused of that notion.

If Nancy Pelosi is any guide, they will do what they are doing even if they think they can be taken out of office for it.

CW-II is going to start somewhere.

Perhaps VA will be the singularity.

He can't be recalled. The recall provision in Virginia doesn't apply to the Governor.

People circulating the recall petition are reading Section 24.2-233 in isolation. The problem with that is that the Code of Virginia is divided into titles, chapters, articles and sections. You have to read the entire article rather than just one Code section.

The recall provisions are located in Title 24.2, Chapter 2, Article 7. The first code section in Article 7 is Section 24.2-230 which clearly outlines who the article applies to.

"This article shall apply to all elected or appointed Commonwealth, constitutional, and local officers, EXCEPT officers for whose removal the Constitution of Virginia specifically provides."

https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title24.2/chapter2/section24.2-230/

Then you have to move to the Virginia Constitution. Article 4 Section 17 of the Virginia Constitution provides for impeachment as the method of removing the Governor. (Also the Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, judges, members of the State Corporation Commission, and all officers appointed by the Governor or elected by the General Assembly.)

By its plain terms, the recall provision doesn't apply to the Governor. The petition will be dismissed out of hand the moment it is filed.

The Democrats have the pedal to the metal to force their will before the people can react. An old tactic used often by the left.

Vote them out next election. Never vote Democrat ever again, and show them no pity whatsoever. Just like they have done to us.

Blocking I-95 traffic South of DC for a few hours during rush hour in protest would make a greater impact.

A few cars driving real slow is all it would take as that area is already bad.

No... My name is not Chris Christy!

Wait until Colorado’s CatLady legislature gets warmed up. They work for Bloomberg (may he burn in hell).

Colorado is going to go nuts this year.
I think that the demrats saw what happened when Virginia’s demrats bragged about their gun restriction proposals, and kept their word holes closed.
We’re in trouble here in Colorado.

I have studied the last time that Virginia butted heads against the Constitution of the United States. That didn’t turn out well. I suspect this next round will turn out far worse . . . for all sides but especially for the thugs who still have not forgiven Republicans for freeing their slaves.

Thanks for the analysis. Admittedly, I didn’t read the petition or any legal basis in depth - one reason I posted was to see if any one was aware of it and what its validity was.

So it’s basically up to everyone in VA to scream as loud as possible and make this the basis for taking this guy out at the next election, along with his support group in the legislature and the AG office.

“Colorado is going to go nuts this year.”

Yep. Starting tomorrow, the Red Flag law will kick in and without questions every liberal is going to report on any ‘domestic partner’ they have ever had.
