At this point, Red and Blue America are not even speaking the same language. We stand near the point of what divorce lawyers term “irreconcilable differences.” In increasingly strident and self-assured tones, the Left believes it is morally superior, intellectually untouchable, and wholly justified in pursuing whatever extralegal, corrupt, or violent methods available to implement their ideology.
Talk of a breaking point has been circling conservative circles for some time, with three tangible options arising from the chatter:
1) continued focus on barely winning elections, appointing "conservative" judges that uphold Obamacare, keeping Arizona from going blue, etc.;
2) a “divorce” of sorts that peaceably divides the United States into permanent blue and red territories, or;
3) civil war.
The first option clearly is the best. It is the least disruptive and preserves the Union and the Constitution, the goal that Abraham Lincoln fought our bloodiest war to support.
But what if it is sabotaged? Trump is an anomaly from both the Democrat and Republican point of view. His no-holds-barred street fighting style has been a welcome change for many Republican voters. But once his presidency ends, is there likely to be a Trump-like figure? Rest assured, the GOP Establishment is busy re-calibrating its primary process that “allowed” Trump to win the nomination to begin with. Republican voters thinking they won’t attempt to force-feed us a Romney or Jeb! next time around are fooling themselves.
At a minimum, in order to keep them honest, we need to be able to consider the other options.
The second option, that of an amicable divorce between red and blue states (and allowing for counties to switch states) seems the best option towards the preservation of the American ideal.

The article ignores the central tenet of leftisim which goes: YOU ARE IMMORAL! They will not tolorated anyone living by their own lights. Destroy them or submit to tham, those are the choices.
"The end justifys the means" is a basic premise of Communists everywhere.
I don’t see how the union endures in the future. There’s way too much irretrievable hostility between left and right. After all, who wants to share a country with those whose basic intention is to destroy it? Better to devise a way to split it into two entities.
We need to weed out the “All Enemies, Foreign and Domestic” who have been permitted to infiltrate our Republic for that to happen. The sooner, the better.
No, the Union can’t endure.
What is going to drive me crazy is hearing, in this election year, people talk about having “a president who the country will unite around”. There will be no “uniting”. The division is too deep and profound. We have virtually nothing in common with the blue state voters.
I don’t see how we can endure any longer either but a split will only make us smaller in size and we will be surrounded by bad guys who want to kill us. We see other countries that deal with that and it appears to be daily survival for them also
We want freedom and liberty. The Left wants power and control. There simply is no way of reconciling these completely incompatible differences.

That is a fact. Anyone believing that the GOP is somehow going to suddenly transform itself into a conservative party is delusional. While our primary foe is the crazed horde of liberal fanatics, the GOP isn’t exactly paving the way to freedom either, and in fact has a vested interested in big government. Clearly, the GOP is often more inclined to support liberal interests and objectives than it is in supporting the conservative agenda.

I think the Left holds to this premise because they know that communism itself is a lie. Communism isn't the utopian ideal it purports to be. It is a means to authoritarian rule under the cover/guise of a utopian pretense.
If it were anything else, the leadership in Venezuela and Cuba would admit the inability of communism as a system to achieve its ideals and somehow move--however gradually--to another form of government.

That has already happened in the case of California...with horrible results.
If California were permitted any more latitude as to leaving the Union, it would fall into foreign hands and that cannot and must not happen.
I see a structure similar to Canada’s relationship with Quebec Province; semi-autonomous regions within the greater United States.
I see the biggest problem with a CWII is that Russia and China would swoop in and take everything. In order for a CWII to happen, the military MUST remain neutral and guard against foreign interference. Let the civilians sort it out.
Of course, for the military to remain neutral, the questions of who controls the military and how do you maintain order in the cities arise.
There are so many unintended consequences that a CWII fails to address.
Well he’s not wrong about 2024. Its going to be depressing looking at a field of career political RINOS and we all know who they are spouting campaign promises they won’t or cant keep because they are owned by the donors who finance their campaigns. Its going to be business as usual.

In the coming war the left may call in some old favor markers held by Obama and Hillary from China and Russia.
When George Washington crossed the Delaware it was to battle Germans (Hessians hired as mercenaries). Spain and France wanted to divide our land after we lost to Britain.

Would like to see the US break up. The govt is too corrupt and has been for a long time. I would like to see something closer to what the founders envisioned. The non stop cultural wars engineered by deep state to keep us separated is something we can all do without. Trillions in debt. The US govt has failed it’s time to break a part. I can live with the continual propaganda barrage that we all live with non stop. The continual lies from our govt and media. Who wants that though ? Ending the govt as we know it would be the best and smartest thing to do.
