Before the holidays, if you remember, the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The vote came months after a whistleblower complaint that alleged Trump tried to use the power of the presidency to coerce Ukraine to investigate the Bidens for his own political interests. President Trump and his associates maintain his request was not politically motivated and that he wanted to root out corruption.
According to a few Republican lawmakers, the campaign against the president was a sleazy, sleazy process. And the main culprit, they alleged , is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
On "Hannity" Monday night, Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recalled hearing threats on the Democratic side of the aisle as the votes proceeded.
Its not just that Nancy Pelosi raises money for her political caucus, its that Nancy Pelosi uses that money as a political weapon against anyone who would potentially vote against impeachment," Gaetz said. "Andy and I observed active threats on the House floor that if the Blue Dog Democrats did not go along with the radical left of the Democratic Party and support impeachment, that they would not be supported by the DCCC."
Biggs said he's talked to Democrats behind the scenes whose hands are tied because, again, Pelosi has bullied them with her power of the purse.
"Some of them Ive talked to quietly on the side want this to go away," Biggs said. "They wish it had never happened. But Nancy Pelosis got them, because she raises money for them.
It was the only "quid pro quo" Gaetz said he observed throughout the impeachment process.
Right now Pelosi is threatening to withhold the articles of impeachment from the Senate, where this process is expected to head for a trial. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is demanding to hear from new witnesses and see new documents, making Republicans wonder if their Democratic colleagues have truly made their best case to impeach the president.
"This has been a huge mistake for the Democrats," Biggs said.

Exactly, the shenanigans are getting really old.
When President Trump is reelected the Dems are going to go absolutely ballistic and it’ll be a great thing for the nation.
Buy stock in Thorazine manufacturer
Nancy Pelosi runs the House like a dictator.
No one should have that type of power
You’re right.
She does in the House what the Dems falsely accuse President Trump of doing, hypocrites all.
What gives the Senate constitutional standing to issue a directed verdict and end this thing without any trial since the impeachment process was bogus and unconstitutional? What legal step is required to give the Senate jurisdiction in this matter so they can dismiss? - Jim W N
Well, they could just deem it to have passed. The Senate doesnt even have to do a thing. So anything it does do is dispositive. They can and IMHO should simply pass a sense of the Senate that Article I and Article II as reported (but not submitted by Nancy) are BS and not impeachable if true. Then Nancy can do what she wants - and so can the Senate in response. This is complicated by the RINOs we have in the Senate, of course. But Article II is an utter embarrassment since it claims that Trump has no right to take the Houses subpoena to court - and did so after SCOTUS had already granted cert, putting SCOTUS on record that Trump had a colorable argument.

And we got the Mensheviks. Worked out great didn’t it.
bttt
Politically, they are threatened with death.
The issue to me is whether there is a federal statute on the books in line with the constitutional procedure of impeachment and conviction.
If not, then I think the Senate could and should (at least try) to render a directed verdict (not sure the % required) since the Constitution says nothing about “Articles of Impeachment” being required.
But something has to legally shift jurisdiction to the Senate. If nothing in federal statute, then probably just the House vote for impeachment did it. If so, the Senate should have at it (except for equivocal O’Connell). Dang, man, get this thing over with.
Do you know if “Articles of Impeachment” are in a federal stature somewhere?
The Constitution gives them that right.
they can do it today.
But MCCONNELL wants to stall, who knows why?
If there’s no constitutionally valid federal statute, then, I think you’re right. But once again we’re stuck with this spineless politician, McConnell, who only cares about his political future, the country be damned.
How sick am I (we) of these corrupt officials?
Term limits, throw the bums out, and get non-politicians in there who will scrap the establishment and restore our Free Constitutional Republic.

Duh?
The charges are completely fabricated.
The Republicans are beginning to fold?
There is no “best case”.
RINO Mission Creep has started. Any RINO doing this deserves the shit kicked out of them.
