The wailing post election will require noise cancelling headphones. Then hopefully the din of moving vans headed out of the country.

Same happy talk sunshine pumping was said in the House. In the end only 2 Dems voted with the GOP. The rep that switched parties and the rep from Minnesota. I expect the same will happen in the Senate.

Trump has the Bush League globalist GOPe hoping he’ll take the bait and request trial in the Senate. Bear in mind the GOPe is keeping the Senate in session to prevent the President from making recess appointments. The GOPe has allowed ZERO recess appointments since Trump was inaugurated. There is no reason to believe they will support Trump in this impeachment.

Sessions is a weasel, a coward, and a traitor. He is sure to win.

I’m not a specialist on these things but isn’t it true that Sessions was a very good Senator and had reached the pinnacle of incompetence as AG?
He was out of his league as AG

I’m not actually sure that a very good senator is even actually a thing.

As far as I am concerned, the Senate is the 100 most useless people on the face of the earth.

So I may be somewhat biased here.

Yep, he was out of his league as AG, but I can’t say with certainty that he was corrupt. Maybe he wasn’t. Maybe he’s just a putz.

But since I can’t say that he is corrupt, that would allow me to vote for him over Jones easily.

If Jones has any hope of being re-elected he will vote to acquit because he knows if he votes against Trump he knows he’s dead.

It costs the dem party nothing with everything to gain.

Does this bozo think we’re stupid? Rhetorical question.

Actually, it was one Dem who voted against impeachment in the House. The other Dem had already agreed to switch parties and just voted as a Dem to stick it to Pelosi.

Two Dems in name only. The guy from NJ had already met with POTUS and was gone from the party.

Jones has no chance of getting re-elected. Republicans know that any senator that’s elected for SIX YEARS is more emboldened because he knows that for six years he can’t be touched, and will vote with democrats on almost everything if not everything. It’s a heck of a lot better to have a republican senator that doesn’t look to block the president or the republican agenda. For six years, Jones would be a hindrance to any part of the republican agenda.

Since a senator's term is for 6 years, even one term senators receive pension benefits...just sayin'

True, but Jones was elected in a special election to fill Sessions seat when he became AG. That term expires in 2021 so he won’t have served five years so no pension. The congressional pension isn’t as generous as many think anyway. They have multiple other ways of getting rich of course. A senator has about a $3 million a year budget to run their office, you can bet a good portion of that is skimmed off, not to mention all the outside sources funneling money to friends and family Hunter Biden style.

He ain’t gonna starve

Jones is a goner, no matter how he votes on impeachment. The only thing that could save him is Roy Moore as his opponent.
Alabamians do not have short memories and Roy Moore as a proven losing contender is one of them. They need to leave him on the shelf as we need the seat back
