Accused Monsey stabber Grafton Thomas kept journals filled with anti-Semitic writing and used a cellphone to search for “Zionist Temples,” including on Staten Island, according to court papers filed by federal prosecutors on Monday.
Thomas, 38, even allegedly used the phone to find out where cops were protecting Jewish neighborhoods just hours before his alleged rampage, which injured five Hanukkah celebrants inside a rabbi’s home on Saturday night.
Thomas filled several pages in his journals with statements that expressed his affinity with the anti-Semitic “Black Hebrew Israelite” movement and questioned “why ppl [people] mourned for anti-Semitism when there is Semitic genocide,” according to a criminal complaint filed in White Plains federal court.

Actually, the problem with our mental health care is that there are no involuntary committals longer than 3 days and one of the main reasons was that the left said it targeted “minorities” too much. Leaving aside the fact that well-off families of any color would probably have sought private treatment for their mentally ill family members (who, after the demise of involuntary commitment, ended up on the street anyway because they could check themselves out of the $5,000 a month facility) and thus there were going to be more lower income families in the public system, this hostility to treatment was devastating for the mentally ill and their families,
There need to be hearings and controls for involuntary commitments, but the great majority of people who are remanded to this seriously need it. Under the new NYC code, however, they sure won’t get it, and they haven’t gotten it for decades in liberal havens. I worked in this field and I saw the transition from decent mental health care for all to no mental health care for anybody.

The mentally ill are useful patsies for extreme ideology on either side of the spectrum. There have been ample examples of those claiming motive from the left or the right who have committed evil acts.
This is why it is very dangerous to have dozens of popular media types pushing narratives such as “he is an existential threat to the nation”, “he is a white nationalist” (supremacist), and other messages that are not true in our republic.
They are lying and what if one of these nuts acts out on the fact that he thinks Trump has declared himself President for life (not true), or Trump has made himself a monarch (ridiculous), or Trump is acting to enrich himself (also ridiculous)? Can you imagine such statements being made about Obama?
Consider that these are statements being made every day on major broadcast networks by “respected” journalist and written into the pages of our newspapers! These are not radio personalities.... they are supposed to be hard news reporters.
Many of these statements are released each day by one of our two major political parties as “talking points” and they are faithfully regurgitated by a willing media.
God forbid, but we have recent examples of how such words and language led to action -
Consider the rise in violence and outright murder/assault on police in the last decade.
What language was used to create this “war on cops”?
What facts?
What “leader” promoted it?
Who funded it?
What were the consequences of this?
Now compare that to the words used every day non-stop to describe Trump, his family, and his supporters.
Consider the attack on the congressional softball game.
We live in dangerous times and I am honestly (and very thankfully) surprised these acts of evil do not happen more often given the number of crazy people we suffer and our heated public discourse.
