Freshman Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued earlier this month that the United States still does exist as an advanced society.
Were here to say that what were living in right now is not an advanced society, Ocasio-Cortez declared at a California presidential rally for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. It is fascism, what we have. What were evolving into as well.
Progressives on the left have been harboring doomsday predictions ever since President Donald Trump took office, forecasting the destruction of the American economy and the erosion of civil rights. What the nation has seen since Trumps inauguration however, has been just the opposite.
Consumer confidence remains high and the Dow Jones Industrial Average officially eclipsed 28,333 points earlier this month marking a 10,000 point rise under President Trump.
And Trumps authoritarianism? Its non-existent. Not one person has unconstitutionally lost their right to vote and gays can still get married, both of which were areas of concern for extremists raising anxiety over Trumps rise to power. In fact, the U.S. House of Representatives flipped to Democratic control in 2018, affording Democrats the chance to chase impeachment as the top item on their policy agenda with made-up crimes to reverse the results of the 2016 election. If theres one party thats been making a grab for power: Its the Democrats.
The United States, in almost every sense of the term is an advanced society leading the way in the modern age. American science and technology reins superior on the world stage and the U.S. remain a global economic leader.
According to the chart below from the American Enterprise Institute, a center-right Washington D.C. think tank, U.S. median household income is now at its highest levels since the 1960s.

She has no concept of how money and wealth are created. She has no idea how easy she has it as compared to places like Zimbabwe or Senegal...................
This is just further degradation of the English language
“Advance” may be used as just another synonym for “progress”, but “progress” has two very different meanings, depending on how it is accentuated.
We “progress” in our work, accentuated on the second syllable, used as a verb. We are “making progress”, accentuated on the first syllable, used as an intangible noun, i.e., describing a process, not a physical object.
In and of itself, there is no particular virtue to “progressive” movement of anything, because cancer is progressive, as are many other deadly degenerative diseases.
What a moronic statement. Almost not worth arguing with.
She appears to have no concept of anything. She says our system is fascist, and also that it’s evolving into a fascist system. Can’t be both!
Also, “fascist” and “advanced society” aren’t mutually exclusive.
In summary, when you think about higher education in the United States, remember that AOC has a degree from a prestigious university.
Fascism is a form of government that is a type of one-party dictatorship. Fascists are against democracy. ... Fascism puts nation and often race above the individual. It stands for a centralized government headed by a dictator. Historically, fascist governments tend to be militaristic, and racist.
"One-party dictatorship" -- False
"Nation and race above the individual" -- False
"Centralized government" -- Becoming true under the Democrats
"headed by a dictator" -- False
"Militaristic and racist" -- Arguably false
This last is open to discussion depending on ones point of view. To certain minorities, the police appear to be militaristic. To other minorities, the police appear to be racist. Some argue that the statistics about incarceration rates expose racism in policing and the Court system.
On balance, I have to give AOC a rating of "False" overall.
Deport AOC, advance society!
Most of what we have now are the 60’s radicals..most are satisfied to sell out their “principles” for a few mil.
Venezuela is also an advanced society like the others you listed.
she is correct.
her voters ELECTED to destroy themselves by
voting for her, her destroying jobs, her imposing communism
and absorption of terrorists,
and her supporting Soros.
the bottom line is that HER VOTERS are not advanced,
probably with an average IQ of in the low 2 digits,
and in fact functionally morons
to have put her in power to
represent them and destroy incoming jobs.
Many people see her as a nice girl their sons could marry and who would cook great Mexican food and have a lot of perkiness to her and a vast knowledge from watching soaps in the afternoon. And they would be pleased that their son married a person out of a fairy tale reality who in a previous time would have been the Lady of Spain married to a rough and tough, brutally handsome (and sometimes cruel) gringo/Mexican cowboy in some cattle town in California that would be the basis of a TV show years later. Amazing how conventional people think.
Unfortunately, .. a true statement .
The indoctrination program of Socialists and Progressives has infested the basic educational
system for years, having been advocated by NEA and teacher unions.
The ‘Coyote Ugly’ Dem candidate in 2028???
or just one more flash in the pan of the Progre$$ives??
A lifeline to the Dems future??
If she was a pipeline, they wouldn’t build it.
She’s Puerto Rican...............
I seriously wonder if the NYC voters will re-elect her...................
“Perhaps she should take a sabbatical and try living in, say, Somalia, China, North Korea, parts of India, Syria... for awhile. Maybe her views would be changed.”
Nah. She’s really not that sharp. Bless her heart.
She doesn’t realize that she is the face of Fascism
Doesn’t change anything.
Stupid people don’t know they are stupid.................
The society just isnt progressive enough.
The best analogy is a mound of fire ants in the corner of your yard.
Option A: You can remain on the deck and step on the ants one by one suffering the random sting or two.
Option B: You can destroy the nest.
For the last 50 years we have chosen Option A and increased funding for the nest, which has continued to grow. Our success with individual ants has provided us with the illusion that we are winning, but are we?
