Freshman Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued earlier this month that the United States still does exist as an advanced society.
“We’re here to say that what we’re living in right now is not an advanced society,” Ocasio-Cortez declared at a California presidential rally for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. “It is fascism, what we have. What we’re evolving into as well.”
Progressives on the left have been harboring doomsday predictions ever since President Donald Trump took office, forecasting the destruction of the American economy and the erosion of civil rights. What the nation has seen since Trump’s inauguration however, has been just the opposite.
Consumer confidence remains high and the Dow Jones Industrial Average officially eclipsed 28,333 points earlier this month marking a 10,000 point rise under President Trump.
And Trump’s authoritarianism? It’s non-existent. Not one person has unconstitutionally lost their right to vote and gays can still get married, both of which were areas of concern for extremists raising anxiety over Trump’s rise to power. In fact, the U.S. House of Representatives flipped to Democratic control in 2018, affording Democrats the chance to chase impeachment as the top item on their policy agenda with made-up crimes to reverse the results of the 2016 election. If there’s one party that’s been making a grab for power: It’s the Democrats.
The United States, in almost every sense of the term is an advanced society leading the way in the modern age. American science and technology reins superior on the world stage and the U.S. remain a global economic leader.
According to the chart below from the American Enterprise Institute, a center-right Washington D.C. think tank, U.S. median household income is now at its highest levels since the 1960s.

Perhaps she should take a sabbatical and try living in, say, Somalia, China, North Korea, parts of India, Syria... for awhile. Maybe her views would be changed.

Total Airhead. We ARE the most advanced and productive civilization ever on this rock. We have been the envy of the world and our political and economic systems copied many times over since 1787 (AOC wouldn’t know the significance of that date). This idiot needs to read a factual book of US history.

She went from working in a bar to working in Congress, so...I can see where she’d think that.
Certainly AOC does NOT live in an advanced society. She lives in a world where socialist totalitarian government is the ideal. No freedom, and wealth is accumulated only with government permission, if at all. The top earners in AOC society would be government employees.

To her, Communism is an advanced society but Fascism is not. Both are socialist. Both are totalitarian. Both kill those who disagree with it. But only one has national identities.
She is a product of her environment - not the cause.
Remove her and there are still hundreds of brainwashed kids who think the same......

What were they taught about American history that made them think like this?
AOC is temporarily the younger version of Obama who was the fruition of this world view, but she will not be the last so getting rid of her does nothing to address the problem.
Any education system that would turn her out certainly isn’t advanced
