Recent elections in Virginia have placed the Virginia government within arm's length of widespread gun confiscation. Around eighty-four counties and cities throughout the Commonwealth have pledged to ignore and resist these measures. Some Virginia elected officials have called for the National Guard to carry out such confiscation, which would imply the arrest and disarmament of local officials who get in the way. Governor Northam has stopped short of adopting such an idea, but he will not rule it out. Additional stories indicate that the government will disable internet and telephone access to affected areas during the crackdown. The prison budget has been increased in anticipation of gun-related arrests.
While the idea of soldiers engaged in gun confiscation is not yet a reality, the proposal itself should alarm every sane person in this country. Elected officials want to send large numbers of uniformed soldiers in combat gear and armored vehicles through residential streets in search of American citizens and their lawful possessions. The hyperbolic political debates of recent years notwithstanding, government oppression has not yet reached the levels displayed by Stalin, Hitler, or Pol Pot. But the Virginia gun confiscation discussion begins to come close. The use of military tanks in residential streets for the purpose of overwhelming law-abiding citizens (and local police) would equal the oppression of Tiananmen Square or the 1968 Prague crackdown.
Democrat regimes have previously been willing to endure political backlash from the temporary use of military force against civilians. Waco and Elián González bear witness to this recent history. The proposed Virginia gun confiscation would be far more widespread, with more enduring consequences.

The Virginia National Guard has 7,200 Soldiers, 1,200 Airmen, 300 Virginia Defense Force members and 400 federal and state civilians. Compared to the numbers of Virginians standing up at counties and localities to defend their 2nd Amendment rights (NOT including like-minded folks who didn’t make it to those votes), the VaNG would be grossly outnumbered. And this doesn’t even take into account the expected breaking away in the ranks as Guardsmen refuse to attack their neighbors, families and friends.
But, go for it, Northam... see where this gets you.
The proposal alone is reason to recall this POS and replace him
I get the feeling that the Beltway establishment feels the need for a large gun-free zone that “protects” DC from the deplorable masses.
If you are gonna burn DC to the ground you pretty much have to start out from Virginia.
How united is Northam’s own staff in supporting his insane plans? At the points the NG is called out, Northam needs to be removed by those around him.
It hasn’t taken long for the demoncrats to adopt Chinese and Cuban tactics.
I am a retired American Army Officer. I have absolute confidence that the Virginia National Guard which lives with the people they would be trampling on will not take part in subduing their law abiding families, friends and neighbors. It won’t happen.
Film - fine. Doing nothing to prevent the confiscation is the Nazi model, NOT the Prague model. Everyone knows that the tanks were firebombed in the Prague uprising. There was massive resistance. People died for freedom.
I would suggest that the proper course of action would be the French Resistance model. Disrupt, harass and attack. Take the soldiers guns. Fight back.
I worked with a couple (both photographers) who escaped after the fighting. Her stories made you want to join the fight; her husband was as reticent as soldiers returning from war.
Bump
And in 2016 people on FR still thought the FBI was full of America-loving patriots too.
Just because they have military uniforms on doesnt mean they are some freedom-loving conservatives, nor does it mean they 100% to a man will not comply, because they can be jailed for refusing an order.
And like minded out of state supporters will show up to lend a hand.
Does anyone have the story done a couple of years ago entitled “I was there at the Coup?” It describes a similar situation, although on a national scenario. Described how the number of weapons owners are far more than the combined firepower of the feds. If anyone has it could they post it again?
It’s clear to me that Northam and his cadre are deliberately trying to provoke a violent reaction from gun-owning patriots in Virginia. When we hear reports about enlisting the National Guard to confiscate weapons and increasing prison budgets to make room for 2nd Amendment protesters this isn’t just policy being discussed, it’s incitement of violence.
Why do Virginia’s Democrats want an armed rebellion? I haven’t figured that out yet.

Somehow, this insane action by the governor is part of a plan to prevent the next Presidential election ... the next to last insurance policy. Their final insurance policy is too horrible to think about.
Guns are the line in the sand. If you are not willing to stand up to gun confiscation nothing else is worth standing for.
You can speak for yourself but I knew better.
Nothing but black booted thugs just waiting to show everyone just who and what they really are.
