President Trump on Saturday went after New York and California over homelessness, saying the states' governors should call him if they "can't handle" the issue.
"California and New York must do something about their TREMENDOUS Homeless problems. They are setting records!" he tweeted about the liberal states.
"If their Governors cant handle the situation, which they should be able to do very easily, they must call and 'politely' ask for help. Would be so easy with competence!" the president continued.

I hope he has a workable solution otherwise Democrats will tie this millstone around Trumps' neck as they did with G Bush.
I doubt the Democrats see homelessness as a problem, so long as the homeless are being brought into the fold as Democrat voters. Thats what its all about.
reopen the state Mental Hospitals.
Hard to blame Trump when the economy is roaring and he keeps offering to help and the dem governors tell him to buzz off. Trump know they won’t ask for his help, he’s just inoculating himself against claims that he did nothing.
I cant help but feel the same way, although Im aware there are millions of normal people who, for various reasons, are trapped there with little hope of escape.
Hmm. I'm reminded of this exchange.
"You have to ask me nicely."
For whom . . .the homeless or the lawmakers?
do a quid pro quo with california lol- that’ll set the dems into a frenzy-
[[I doubt the Democrats see homelessness as a problem,]]
They don’t and infact they see HOME OWNERSHIP as a problem, and are talking about outlawing private single family home ownership
If we can’t properly name the problem, then we will never address it.
The vast number of ‘homeless’ are in fact heroin addicts. The problem is the opioid epidemic.
The solution is forced methadone treatment or incarceration. It has worked in Rhode Island.
What's his plan?
I live in California and you are exactly right. They're everywhere here, and from what I see, 95% of those sleeping on the streets have mental problems, drug problems, or both.
The "lack of affordable housing" line is a joke. These people could not make ANY mortgage or rent payment of any amount. What are we supposed to do, give them all free housing? Free on us, that is.
If the PTB were so concerned about affordable housing, they should have thought about that before they gave away all our good-paying manufacturing jobs to the rest of the world and basically destroyed our middle-class. IMO there is a direct link between hopelessness and lack of motivation.
Lastly, it doesn't help that the 9th Circuit's Martin vs. Boise decision has apparently been interpreted to mean the "homeless" can take over the streets entirely. The Western states are being flooded with vagrants, squatters, and undesirables now that the word is out that they're untouchable.
Off my soapbox now.
He may have one, or he might be bluffing. we'll never see which though for that reason.
I agree! But isnt it something how under 8 years of Obama homelessness was never the issue it is today.
in fact during that training they teach cops how to act in regards to crime when theyre off duty.....REopen the mental hospitals, with decent administrators, and let the drek die there unless CURED.
Trump’s DC has a homeless problem.
They’ll ask for Federal funding.
Homelessness has been an issue since the mental hospitals were emptied about 50 years ago.
Homelessness is handled by working and often by moving.
Accept no substitutes.
