Although Washington is one of Germany's closest allies, public trust in the US has significantly eroded under President Donald Trump, a new YouGov survey showed.
Germans were asked who was more dangerous: North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Russian President Vladimir Putin or US President Donald Trump.
Some 41% of Germans said they thought Trump was the most dangerous out of the five world leaders.
In second place was Kim with 17%, followed by Putin and Khamenei with 8%. Coming in last was China's Xi with 7%.
Over 2,000 people in Germany took part in the survey, which was commissioned by news agency dpa.
A similar YouGov poll was carried out in July last year, in which 48% of Germans surveyed said Trump was more dangerous than Kim and Putin. That poll, however, did not include the leaders of Iran or China.

The pipeline is temporarily delayed (but will be completed), but the damage to America’s image will be more long-term.
All thanks to Ted Cruz & Ron Johnson, sponsors of this stupid anti-Europe legislation.
Yeah, well, when I worry about what Germans think about anything... Well, I still won’t.
The TRUTH is that what is in this article is ABSURD, just as the FAKE NEWS is here in the USA.
There’s a perfectly appropriate word for people who believe such NONSENSE: STUPID.
(As a group, Germans are neither STUPID nor IGNORANT.= I used to live there for years.)

I briefly dated a German Girl in SoCal in 1987. She thought Reagan was going to get us all nuked by the noble Russkies, who would have no choice, but to defend themselves. She also thought that my friend’s meth ho sister who got knocked up was being cheated by the government for only getting $512/ month in welfare, for her, and her child (plus food stamps). At the time, I was paying $300/ month to rent a room, about two bucks a day, for groceries, 89 cents a gallon for gas, to get to work, and pay taxes....
Cool...
Germans also thought Hitler was cool
Trying! Really trying!
Nope. Can’t do it. Can’t come up with a single damn reason why I should give two hoots in hell what the German people think. Let them stew in their own juices as they succumb to the muslim invasion of their country, with the encouragement of their elected government.
As true today as it was in 1513.
Germans think Trump is more dangerous than Kim Jong Un and Putin

I guess this is what happens when you start asking Europeans to pay for more of their own defense.
You pretty much nailed it.
Not Ted Cruz’s finest moment. It’s a stupid bill.
Germans are 0-2 in the World War series and that was back when the nation still had real men. No one cares what Germans think about anything.
They even build 4 door Porsches now!
Time to withdraw from NATO
one time my mother called to check base on family in Germany and my cousin went off on a tirade about how Trump was going to get us in a world war. This really upset my mother who likes Trump and voted for him. When I heard I told my mother that next time my cousin said that to respond with ' well Germany got to start two world wars so it was only fair that America got a turn'. I said that should both shut her up and make her head explode. : )
Hate America while letting in millions of Muzzies who are sharpening their knives and slowly killing a once great nation. The two World Wars and Cold War zapped the Alpha German.
Frankly, who gives a crap what the Germans think? They’re no ally of ours.
Just as their freeloading, seeking to constantly ankle bite and stuffing their pockets full of tyrants’ blood money at every turn has not exactly endeared Americans to Germany.
And that’s to say nothing of their pre 1945 behavior.
GOOD!
Clintons team did a great job of framing Trump as a dangerous and unstable Hitler-in-the-making. As I noted before, that provided moral cover for her supporters to threaten and physically assault Trump supporters in public.
