As we suspected, albeit against much criticism, House counsel Doug Letter has responded to the DC Appeals Court arguing the forced testimony of White House counsel Don McGahn is needed for evidence in impeachment trial. [Court pdf Avail Here]
This court filing today bolsters the unspoken background motive for delayed House Impeachment Managers. The House Judiciary Committee is using impeachment as support for their ongoing effort to gain: Don McGahn deposition, and Mueller grand jury material (6e). The goal is opposition research; impeachment is a tool to establish legal standing to obtain it. Everything else is chaff and countermeasures.

So they admit they impeached without evidence.
This wont be resolved for months and Democrats impeached Trump for exercising his constitutional claim of executive privilege.
These people are a sick joke.
bttt
They already impeached him. Too late for more evidence.
I think the parade has passed them by. They did a half-assed job. They want a mulligan?
Nancy is at it again , they have to impeach Trump before blah blah
Of course..it was ALL political..Pelosi told NBC News that by impeaching Trump it “Puts a cloud over his head forever” gee..I thought they were impeaching him because he committed a crime/sarc
OK. If that’s the way Nancy wants to play it, it’s clearly now time for the Senate to hold its trial before this shitshow drags on forever (though of course if the House Dems are NOW willing to wait for the completion of a multi-year court process, they COULD have waited BEFORE making the bogus claim of “abuse of Congress”)
at any rate, there is zip, nada, zilch in the U.S. Constitution that says the Senate can’t go ahead and hold their hearing/trial RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE the House has passed impeachment articles, meaning President Trump HAS been impeached ...
all of this nonsense about “House managers” and “transmittal” are nothing more than arbitrary procedural rules used in past impeachments ... there’s NOTHING in the U.S. Constitution that says anything about procedural rules, nothing about changing said rules, nothing about ignoring said procedural rules, and nothing that says there has to even be a procedure other than the House votes for an impeachment resolution and the Senate deals the issue afterwards ... period ...
And if the House doesn’t like the Senate proceeding RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE HOUSE PASSED IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTIONS, then Nancy can ask SCOTUS to intervene and will certainly lose whatever claim she makes before SCOTUS ...
Theyve already voted on these articles. Its done.
More and more I am convinced they are going to try stall this to get past primaries. This way they could peel off a few rinos, and get a bipartisan majority to convict. Not enough to remove but a big club to use against the President. The voters in those states will be trapped. They can vote for the Senator who voted to convict Trump or vote for the rat and help the f’n democrats take the Senate.
Time for Barr to unleash the whirlwind and put a stain on every single Democrat in the universe.
More like time for McConnell to stop being coy. END THIS, Senator!
Democrats have earned the distinction of being beneath even fake news. To quote from POTUS “Go on home to mama”.
I won’t listen to them, read long articles on the threats posed by their partnership with Lawfare or give them any air space.
Like Wiley E. Coyote the results of their strategy has repeatedly backfired spectacularly. Lawfare has arrogance and inflammatory article down pat but results have thus far eluded them not least because President Trump conducts himself at all times within the law.
This is when The Turtle sends a Notice of Pending Subpoena to Testify in the Impeachment of Donald J Trump to:
Joe Biden
Hunter Biden
John Kerry
James Comey
John Brennan
James Clapper
Adam Schiff
Nancy Pelosi
They can just write new articles.
Too freaking bad. Your caucus voted to impeach. Want another bite at the apple, toss this impeachment and start fresh.
And that sour face fuzzy hair former Ambassador to Ukraine
