But then there were no written rules governing the timetable for a Senate decision on Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland, only custom. If Speaker Nancy Pelosi follows Senator Mitch McConnell's playbook, Donald Trump will never stand trial in the Senate.

Former special counsel Robert Ray, on Laura last night, said Mitch should set a trial date in the Senate. When that day comes, if the Articles/House Managers are there already or show up, fine. If not there, case dismissed. It’s that simple. Pelosi has NO leverage & it frankly both cracks me up & annoys the heck out of me that the DemonRats are trying to take over the Senate trial, which is NOT going to happen. He also said Pelosi is guilty of ‘obstruction of Congress’, no doubt - the very thing Trump is being impeached for.

Either the House has sufficient evidence to justify the impeachment of President Donald Trump or it doesn’t.

The Democrats and “the press” let the Merrick Garland nomination founder. I suspect they didn’t want an investigation into Justice Scalia’s death. Probably a quid pro quo: they don’t go to the mat for Garland and we don’t look too deeply into Scalia’s death.
Waiting will only get Nancy Pelosi the chance to make Pence President somewhat later in life, at most.
