Lets have a look ... with the last emperor, China devolved to warlords, which brought all the nations for a sloce. So, with the understood Chinese mafia already established, might China move towards a democratic government, or a more Stalinist one??
The Chinese people have gotten a whiff of freedom in the last 20 years, as well as a dramatic crash course in what capitalism can do for living standards. That’s a hard genie to put back in the bottle. China now has hundreds of millions of educated, sophisticated, increasing affluent people who have seen enough of the outside world to know that all wisdom doesn’t flow from an almighty Party.
