This has never made sense. It is never made sense when you throw every likelihood into it. They do these articles of impeachment, they go over to the Senate, they have a trial, Trump’s acquitted. What do they accomplish? Literally nothing. The worst outcome in any event, the worst outcome possible for her is for Trump to be acquitted.
So how do you prevent that? You claim exactly what I said her out was gonna be. You refuse to send the articles and why? Because the Republicans are racist, sexist, bigots, homophobes, and they’re unfair, and they’re partisan, and there won’t be a fair trial. She’s not even gonna announce who her House managers are, the prosecutors, until she gets a lowdown on how the Senate’s gonna conduct itself. It’s none of her business. She has not a single thing to say about how the Senate does things, zilch, zero, nada. All she can do is try to force Chuck You Schumer into doing her bidding, which probably he would do, but she can’t tell McConnell to do anything.
The only way she can get what she ultimately wants is to make sure there isn’t a trial, because if Trump is acquitted then all of this is out the window. She’s already got a big enough problem by not sending those articles over because why? Well, Trump is such an immediate threat, we couldn’t wait. We couldn’t wait to do this. We couldn’t take the normal amount of time. We couldn’t take the 14 months it took for Nixon, because Trump represents such an existential threat to the country, to the Constitution, to the Moon, to Mars, to climate change, you name it, we gotta get rid of him.
Now they got the articles, and what? Why, Mitch McConnell has become the threat. McConnell is the threat. We can’t let McConnell get involved in this, Pelosi’s saying. Mitch McConnell is the threat? Yes, that’s right, ma’am, because Mitch McConnell would oversee the acquittal. Now, there are other reasons why she’s not gonna send these articles over there. They’re bogus! They’re fake! This was a fake impeachment to go along with fake news. Everything about it is political.
I have to tell you, McConnell was better today than I have seen him in years, nuking Pelosi from the floor of the Senate. We have the audio sound bites coming up. But, man. I’m actually feeling kind of puffed up here today because she’s doing exactly what I told her her out was. Now, look. I did not predict nor advise her not to send the articles over. But I told her her out was to blame it all on the Republicans. It can’t get a fair process. The Republicans are partisan. The Republicans are racists. The Republicans are bigots. The Republicans’ minds are made up. She’s saying all of that.
What about if they hold it until 5 years later then if they think they can submit it in a democratic led senate wou.d that allow them to vote conviction and or imprisonment of Trump?

Following adoption of the articles of impeachment, the House adopts resolutions appointing managers to present the articles before the Senate, notifying the Senate of the adoption of articles and appointment of managers, and authorizing the managers to prepare for and to conduct the trial in the Senate.

Until notification to the Senate, by the House, is made, the adopted articles of Impeachment are not formal. Such notification may be delayed as long as the next Congressional Session.

Until the Senate is informed formally and managers appointed by a filed resolution to the Senate, the Senate may ignore the House resolutions of Impeachment.

If the Congressional session expires, then new managers have to be appointed by a new House Resolution in the next session. The adopted Articles of Impeachment, however do not have to be readopted but have to be filed no later than the end of the next session.

It’s just like Clinton.
He was not Impeached until after the case was presented to the Senate and he was acquitted.
At that point and only then was he an Impeached President.
Then it didn’t happen.
If the Senate uses whatever was released earlier, I could see the dems saying that those were not the official ones and try to make the Senate vote to acquit Trump invalid and try to make them do it again, just to waste time and out of spite.
The Senate needs to demand the OFFICIAL, hand delivered copy right from the House or the impeachment never happened.
So what are we going to do about it?
Wow hadn’t thought of that. Wonder if she could do it that way.
Come mid-January, your normal priorities will go to the Super Bowl and winter storms. So far, the hype hasn’t mattered...people are focused on the holiday period, and this whole thing has turned into a minor political ‘event’. Go around ask people how much of the hearings from the House that they watched....probably less than 30 minutes per day, and mostly via Fox or the other networks.
If they don’t hand the articles over by the 2nd Friday in January, I’d say all the enthusiasm has gone away.
They would need a super majority in the Senate (67) to convict Trump.
Not a constitution expert but I would think the two articles of impeachment would die when the next House is sworn in January of 2021 like all other unfinished business as it would be a new session thus invalidating all old business. I could be wrong but that’s how I perceive it — Cheers!

She’ll turn them over, but, in the meantime, she and the MSM will have a field day declaring untold atrocities being cooked up by the Senate and President Trump to poison the process.

The dems have always known he would not be removed. They had to impeach him to satisfy their base. But they also know Trump is marked with impeachment forever in the history books. Many, many years from now Trump will just be remembered as the 3rd impeached President in the U.S.
Ignore Nanny Pelosi until the next congress comes up
The House indicted the President. Unerd the Speedy Trial Act, she has 30 days to file it. Otherwise, she has failed to comply. The Turtle can do what turtles do, go slow and look for a post upon which to perch.
He will be a very significant president.
No new congress is bound by the prior.
The present articles become void and would have to go through the whole process again.
