FISA Court Owes Some Answers: Why did the presiding judge stonewall Rep. Devin Nunes when he reported FBI abuses?
Wall Street Journal ^ | December 19, 2019 | Kimberley A. Strassel

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court this week blasted the Federal Bureau of Investigation for “misconduct” in the Carter Page surveillance warrant. Some would call this accountability. Others will more rightly call it the FISC’s “shocked to find gambling” moment.

...

On Feb. 7, 2018, Devin Nunes, then chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, sent a letter to Judge Collyer informing her of its findings in his probe of the FBI’s Page application. He wrote that “the Committee found that the FBI and DOJ failed to disclose the specific political actors paying for uncorroborated information” that went to the court, “misled the FISC regarding dissemination of this information,” and “failed to correct these errors in the subsequent renewals.” Mr. Nunes asked the court whether any transcripts of FISC hearings about this application existed, and if so, to provide them to the committee.

Judge Collyer responded a week later, with a dismissive letter that addressed only the last request. The judge observed that any such transcripts would be classified, that the court doesn’t maintain a “systematic record” of proceedings and that, given “separation of power considerations,” Mr. Nunes would be better off asking the Justice Department. The letter makes no reference to the Intelligence Committee findings.

Mr. Nunes tried again in a June 13, 2018, follow-up letter, which I have obtained. He told the court that Congress “uncovered evidence that DOJ and FBI provided incomplete and potentially incorrect information to the Court,” and that “significant relevant information was not disclosed to the Court.” This was Mr. Nunes telling FISC exactly what Inspector General Michael Horowitz told the world—18 months sooner. Mr. Nunes asked Judge Collyer to “initiate a thorough investigation.” To assist her, the same month he separately sent FISC “a classified summary of Congress’s findings and facts” to that point.

Unbounded corruption...

Which judge will be removed first?

I always wondered why the judges were completely silent throughout thid coup attempt. They were complicit is why.

Apparently Collyer decided she could blow off Nunes, but the Horowitz report and subsequent remarks by AG Barr backed her into a corner.

The FISC court should be eliminated. No doubt the FISA requests for warrants for Trump associates’ were not the only ones with false information. It’s likely SOP for the FBI.

And Wray’s going to reform it? How can he do it effectively if he, like Comey, is “seven layers” removed from the process?

Obviously, the FISA court lied to Congress to cover up its own involvement as part of the Democrats’ coup plot. Secret courts should have no place in America.

When I accused the FISC of being complicit in the coup about 2 years ago I felt just a mite sheepish about the possibility of being wrong. But with these recent revelations of the Court’s waaaay too late feigned outrage and buckpassing, I feel vindicated. DOJ, FBI, CIA, FISC; are all corrupt. Even the SCOTUS is tainted, a la the Chief Justice’s perfidy in ACA, etc.

Why the courts stalled: Because they knew or suspected something was wrong long before November 2016), ignored it, and are trying to protect themselves.

Which judge gets removed first: Rudolph Contreras may want to plan for his retirement.

“”””I always wondered why the judges were completely silent throughout thid coup attempt. They were complicit is why.”

Exactamundo. I think all these players in the FBI,CIA, FISA judges etc thought the Mueller Report would take out President Trump and it would all be hidden forever.

They overplayed their hand and now they can enjoy the consequences.

Who will come out and squeal first to save themselves?

Credit Nunes doing his due diligence. Perhaps Judge Collyer was responding with the prevailing political winds at the time. Now that the IG report stoked the flames of FISA misdeeds now she demands action. Makes one wonder if she was shopped for as the presiding judge?

Look like there may be a few vacancies and President Trump may get to appoint a few more judges than anticipated

Keep in your prayers that all this deception and seditious corruption will be exposed and dealt with in truth and justice. These are criminal acts at the higher levels of government by scums of the lowest levels of integrity.

"Which judge will be removed first?"

None, just like awaiting for indictment of major coup plotters, even McCabe whee we don't have to wait for further endless investigations. There will be no justice within the justice system. We will need peoples' courts following a general uprising to get justice.

It is widely known that no FISA judge spoke out about the abuse. It is widely known that no attempt was made to stop the abuse. It is widely known that no attempt has been made to change the process. It was reported yesterday that Admiral Rodgers of the NSA informed Chief Justice Roberts and the FISA courts about the actions of the FBI in early 2016, BEFORE he told candidate Trump.

How much more in on the coup can you get?

I have personally seen judges overplay their hand. There is nothing higher than a court order.
