A House Democrat impeachment expert just wrote an opinion article stating that impeachment is a process not a vote and that Trump could legitimately say he wasn’t impeached at all because impeachment is seen through the lenses of the constitution as a whole -impeached in the House and then sent to the Senate for the trial. You can’t have one without the other
It’s the media outlets who decide whether someone is impeached or not. Trump was from the moment he won the election.

Trump should repeat that he wasn’t impeached until the Democrats’ heads explode. The GOP leadership should also join in, so it will be impossible for the establishment press to ignore. They want their asterisk, and won’t be denied.

Im no "House Democrat impeachment expert" but I'd say that if Senators can read it in the Congressional Record, they have been notified. Take it to trial, if the Democrats don't show up, so what?
Trump isn’t “deemed” impeached until House managers formally show up in the Senate fo impeach him.
Until then, impeachment hasn’t happened.

impeachment is not uncharted waters. It’; been done before and clearly detailed in the constitution and the rules of congress. To say he wasn’t impeached is to live in fantasyland.
Impeachment needs formal notification to the Senate and the accused to be valid.
Hiding impeachment documents in Schiff’s basement doesn’t make them a legal fact.
I think the point is that the vote is not enough in itself. It only happens when the articles are passed out of the House to the Senate. If Pelosi refuses to transmit, then the impeachment has not happened yet.
It’s the same as a bill dying in committee in the legislative process. Unless it is moved to the next step as required it dies and is of no force and effect.

Uh wrong it happens when the house votes yea on the articles. What happens after that is post-impeachment from nothing up to a trial

The vote determines whether or not he was impeached. the vote passed both articles. Passing articles is the definition of impeachment.

Until that traffic citation is turned in at the office of the Traffic Court Clerk and officially posted there is NO ticket, nor is there a crime.
Impeachment is the same. Until it is delivered to the Senate there is NO official impeachment.
