I'm old enough to remember when the Harry Potter books first started coming out, and all the adults said things like, "Well, those books are silly, but at least kids are reading something." Then Rowling became richer than the queen of England, and all those kids who read her books grew up to get media jobs where they compared every single current event to something from one of her books. "Read another book!" became a rallying cry among the elderly. But those kids haven't read another book, and they won't read another book. They revere Rowling like a saint.
Having a core audience of millennials has its drawbacks. They don't react too well when you start talking about facts and biology and other tools of the cisnormative patriarchy.

wonder if she will give those sorts of answers when she faces her maker and is asked why she chose to use her talent to skew kids minds and lead many astray? Adults have some more responsibility for their choices of reading but this ladies books were geared toward messing up kids minds before they had a chance for solid hold of real sense and thought and reasoning abilities.

I think we kept up our reading skills with comic books. Just right for our attention span.
I spent a few yrs in the UK in the early 60’s. The country was Conservative with a capital C and the adults, those who went thru the 2nd WW loved us GI’s while the kids our age disliked us to the same degree.
It is sad the country has gone down as it has. I always respected them for the fight they put up in WW2 and believe they exhibited as much courage as any people I know.
I wanna’ know why Harry Potter didn’t use his magic wand to fix his own eyesight and get rid of those stupid looking glasses.

J.K. is a very intelligent woman. I wonder why this lesson does not inform her that the folks she is aiding and abetting in dying England are on the wrong track and she is tagged to them?
