NEVADA, Iowa -- A man has been imprisoned for burning an LGBTQ flag that was flying at a church in central Iowa.
Adolfo Martinez, 30, of Ames, was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years for the hate crime of arson and given a year for reckless use of explosives or fire and 30 days for harassment. The sentences are to be served consecutively, Story County court records said.
A jury convicted Martinez in November. He'd been arrested in June.
He's said he tore down the flag that had been hanging from the United Church of Christ in Ames and burned it because he opposes homosexuality.

What is that?
Most people who take a human life in Iowa likely don’t do 15 years.
There has absolutely got to be more to this story.
I see, courts have determined that burning the American Flag is “free speech”, but a burning a pervert flag is “hate speech”?????
Big no-no.
They let car thieves off the hook with no jail time nowadays but this guy gets 15 years for burning a flag?

Not necessarily- the unhinged left made an example of this man- claimed it was a hate crime- and threw the book at him
Now, a muslim can burn an effigy of the president, or a jew, or a jewish flag, or an American flag in hatred for America and not go to prison- but by golly burn a flag that the gays use as their symbol of queerness and you go to prison for 15 years-
Somebody should pull Old Glory down off an Iowa church and burn it. The Supreme Court has already declared that to be constitutionally protected free speech.
The two cases could likely tie up our entire court system for the next thirteen years.
Some murderers don’t get 15 years.
The double standard is everywhere.
My feeling is to let these LBGTQIXYZ symbols stay on these supposed “churches.” Basically this is a warning from God that Satan is in control there and to stay far away.
Burning a flag is not arson. Who the he’ll is this judge?
Precisely the point; this is likely unconstitutional.

Even if you believe in the LGBTQ cause, 15 years is too severe a sentence!!!!
We are losing the new Civil War.
The parallel to the 1930's in Germany and the 1920's in Russia are approaching completion...
