Excellent speech by McConnell. It looks to me like he is setting up a “dismissal resolution”. And he made excellent points. The HOUSE could become totally dominant if they start sending impeachment articles to the Senate once a week or so ... and they could (and probably would do that). Remember, once those “hit” the Senate, the Constitution states all legislation STOPS to take care of the articles. The House could SHUT DOWN the Senate. I think the key is the lack of “bipartisan” support in the House. If 30 or 40 Republicans would have voted for this, then there might be a reason for a trial ... but a party-line vote is just a bunch of children acting out. Dismiss it, Mitch!

I never was a big Mitch fan but he wrote a speech that was very statesman like.

That's not in the constitution.

Schumer was saying that large amounts of legislation are, and have been, sitting in the Senate but McConnell has refused to move the legislation forward. What’s that about, if anyone here knows?

House Rats impeached Mr. Trump on one count of Obstruction of Congress.

Mr. McConnell could and should declare the HOR guilty of Obstruction of Senate. Hold a vote making that official. Then IF Nasty Pelosi does send those bogus article to the Senate - DISMISS AND DENY THEM.

Return to Sender. Junk Mail.

The same sort of rules limit the House by specifying a new impeachment inquiry must wait a year after the last vote on articles.

I don’t think there is anything in the Constitution that says that the Senate has to make impeachment first and stop all other legislation until it’s finished.

That’s probably precedent, but the Senate can change it’s rules at any time. Especially if the House is deemed to be abusing it’s power.
