Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell set the stage Thursday for a potentially bruising fight between the leadership of the two chambers over impeachment, as he tore into Nancy Pelosi for shoddy work and said Democrats may be too afraid to send the articles to the Senate after the House speaker abruptly held off on transmitting them.
This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage at this particular president create a toxic new precedent that will echo well into the future, McConnell said on the floor, accusing Democrats of giving in to "temptation" with their impeachment vote while challenging their handling of the articles in the aftermath.

“Hey Mitch. Would you mind if we put you on top of a wooden 4 x 4 fence post way out in the country somewhere. (I know its cruel and unusual for an innocent animal). For nuanced, sophisticated cruel and unusual domestic enemies what can we do?”
Keep on digging, you’re just proving you’ve never met a snapping turtle.
First rule of holes, one you and Pelousy seem ignorant of: when you’re in one, stop digging.
That's right! Palousie is obstructing justice! McConnell must mete some punishment to her and her DemonCrap henchmen if they persist in this obstruction of justice !
I don’t know exactly what it is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the House has sent over a lot of garbage legislation. McConnell has no intention of moving forward on their crazy, left wing junk.
If she never sends it to the Senate, then how can the say Trump was impeached? I mean it’s like a guy being arrested and indicted for a crime, but he’s never given a court date?
ROTFLMAO
Its the same gamble that Harry Reid did with the judges.
Mitch warned them then.
The bottom line is that these articles of impeachment were drafted by a bunch of stunted misfit lawyers from New York, California and Washington DC. In making his public speech today, McConnell was speaking on behalf of the rest of the country where real Americans live.
She's got the ball. If she wants to move it forward, she has to take it to the Senate. It's her ball. Nobody is restraining her, nobody is telling her she lacks the power to impeach (that's done), nobody is asking her to wait.
She does not have the power to set Senate trial rules. She can complain, sure. She can demand, sure, but nobody outside of the House demanded the House change its rules on this impeachment. She has the sole power, she used it, and her part is done. She can deliver it to the Senate, or not.
Mitch has apprised the world what he thinks of the articles. Her ultimate options are still the same. She can deliver the articles or not. That's entirely her choice.
So yes, I suppose I agree with you. She is running her show, and she can do what she wants with the Articles. But she cannot direct the senate trial.
If you hate the guy more than you love that he is standing up against this, then by all means snipe at him as if you are in a position to alienate the guy.
This isnt a fricking video game.
I won't waste your time trying to persuade you otherwise.
She will hold these articles until next November, at which point the voters will re-elect Trump and burn down her House majority, her articles and her speakership.
The whole impeachment process went off the rails immediately. This travesty should be treated with all of the contempt that it has earned.
It’s not that it is or is not.
It’s that it hasn’t been done before, and that makes it dangerous more than anything else.
This is like applying 200 watts of electricity to a wrist watch to see if it just keep ticking or will burn the arm off.
You are so full of sh!t. Instead of spending so much time putting on a public display as a pathological malcontent, why dont you educate yourself about how our government works.
She certainly seems to be directing when they start the trial. They don't need her to walk over papers. The House's part in this is done. Why would he even react to her 'delay'? He should just move forward and be done with it.
Consider that a key component of lawfare is to district shop for an appropriate federal level judge to issue a nationwide injunction. If Trump doesn't comply with these lawful court orders, then he can be considered to be in contempt of court. Trump has consistently complied with the respective courts until it reaches SCOTUS to avoid any real, meaningful impeachment charges.
So, let's ask this question: how did the judiciary assert this particular constitutional role? Madison v Marbury of course. OK, here's the big reveal: how come Trump doesn't judge shop for someone to issue an impeachment injunction directed at the House? (Lack of due process, abuse of power, bill of attainder, et al as the causes of action.) After all, the progs have already established the necessity of abiding by court decisions. Second, what happens if the House violates the court order?
Well, here's where it gets interesting. Congress - as a purely political body - has impeachment and removal power. What about the executive? He can't impeach, but he is the CIC and the chief law enforcement order. What happens if you/I were to ignore a court order? That's right, the executive police power comes into play. So, what would be the charges? How about seditious conspiracy?
Let's review: some federal district judge issues a nation wide injunction against House impeachment process. House ignores, Trump orders arrests, as is his constitutional right & duty. See where this is going? Live by lawfare (the sword), die by lawfare (the sword).
Trump should just say he’s ending this and pardoning himself, whether he really can or not. If the dopes believe what dems have been saying, they can believe that. Let all the tiny heads explode.
House Rats impeached Mr. Trump on one count of Obstruction of Congress.
Mr. McConnell could and should declare the HOR guilty of Obstruction of Senate. Hold a vote making that official. Then IF Nasty Pelosi does send those bogus article to the Senate - DISMISS AND DENY THEM.
