Maybe my memory is faulty, but when Clinton was impeached (he committed perjury — a real crime) I don’t recall the media doing much of a “gut check”. They basically were attacking the Vast Rightwing Conspiracy and declaring how unfair the whole thing was.
In some respects, not that different from today. Except now the media is on the losing end and professing shock.
First thing Trump needs to do after 2024 is write a book.
That brings to mind a line from an old movie that predicts what will happen in the next 11 months. It's a line from "Tora, Tora, Tora"..after the attack..I think it's from Admiral Yamamoto...standing on the bridge of one of the Japansese aircraft carriers. ...He says: "I am afraid we have awakened a sleeping giant".
That is what I think will happen in the November elections.. a sleeping giant has been awakened with this sham impeachment.

Yep. Bush made a conscience decision to remain mute when faced with withering criticism of him and of conservative values and policies. It was as if he was embarrassed and ran away from Conservatives.
In the end, Conservatives ran away from him. There is no other statistical explanation as to how a president get into the 30s without losing their base. Bush clearly abandoned his base and they returned the favor.
Who is issuing the orders?
CIA / Soros / China / some people within Saudi Arabia
Some combination of the above.
