Mormons pulling 400,000 youths out of struggling Boy Scouts

KAYSVILLE, Utah (AP) — For decades, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was one of Boy Scouts of America’s greatest allies and the largest sponsor of troops. But on Jan. 1, the Utah-based faith will deliver the latest blow to the struggling organization when it pulls out more than 400,000 young people and moves them into a new global program of its own.

BSA’s time has come and gone. Like music cassettes, innocence and Kmart.

As former Eagle Scout they should have made the Philmont announcement from the deck of the BSA Titanic. Declining membership had already started decades before the current sad situation. The END is near )-:

Girl Scouts used to do that. They killed that when the far left leadership said stay at home moms are bad role models, we don’t want women like that in leaderships. These are the women who were mostly likely to have several years of leadership experience and went camping for family vacations.

This resulted in a lot of working moms put in leadership. Guess what badges they led? Stress relief, cooking, the occasional political activism badge. The troops got smaller from the departures to less liberal alternatives, and the girls who wanted to DO stuff started screaming, “I want to join the Boy Scouts” instead of “Bring back the fun moms!”

Girl Scout alternatives like American Heritage Girls are still hiking, camping and respecting conservative values.

I have to agree. I don’t agree at all with the Mormon theology and doctrine, but I admire that they are taking the high road in protecting their young from this sexually perverse influence the Boy Scouts are espousing!
