Not sure about the heartland, but paranoia was certainly striking deep on the set of AM Joy on MSNBC today. Host Joy Reid devoted a segment to a discussion of the supposedly serious possibility that President Trump would refuse to leave office after two terms, the constitutional limit of the 22nd Amendment notwithstanding.

Since the Dems attempted an illegal coup om Donald Trumps 1st term, he is entitled to a replacement term.
That means the Donald will get to serve as president for 12 years, not just eight.
Pinochet was too hesitant to act, too slow and inefficient on doing the job that had to be done, and quit before it was finished.
We are America faced with the same prospect.

Since Clinton, people have been afraid that the outgoing President would not leave office. This was the case with Bush Jr., then 0Bummer and now Trump. The rise of this comes from the rumored FEMA camps being built and its activity that has gone on around these camps. There was also rumors that one of the past Presidents would declare martial law. As of yet, these have been nothing but rumors but it did give rise to the SHTF culture becoming more mainstream. This does have some roots whether it is a demoncrat stating this or a repube stating this. Either way there might be a slim chance where the incumbent President, not saying Trump, a sitting President does declare martial law and because of martial law refuses to leave office. My belief is that this will happen more of a demonrat President than a repube President. This also gave way to whispers that have grown louder of America’s second Civil War. This is not nothing to see but it is also not to taken too seriously either at this time. Given enough time seeds take root and grow into trees.
This particular “fear” is not a big deal; I’ve heard it about every President since I was old enough to hear such things. I’ve even said it a couple of times! But few seriously believe it about any President.
In all fairness, I can recall more than a few past threads where Freepers discussed Obama staging a violent incident and declaring martial law to stop the elections.
Someone, somewhere has said this at one time or another about every President since John Adams.
Of course, she thinks installing Pelosi as president is totally okie dokie. I would have no problem with Trump or Pence exercising their full executive powers to put down a coup.
Well, Obama never left Washington and his minions continue to do his work to this day.
