Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis both reaffirmed their support for refugee resettlement.
On Friday, the Minneapolis City Council voted in favor of a resolution to reaffirm the city's pledge to support refugee resettlement in the city.
The vote comes after President Donald Trump issued an executive order instructing federal officials to receive written consent from local governments before they can accept refugees.
"The Mayor and City Council do hereby affirm the City's status as a Welcoming City, and a city that strongly supports resettling refugees without regard to race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, or country of origin," the resolution reads.
In a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Walz on Friday said The inn is not full in Minnesota.

Maybe he'll take in some Saudi pilots, while he's at it.
I hope “the inn” goes red in 2020.
You can’t fix stupid!
...mark this place off my list of places to visit...
It will be tough with all of the vote buying going on.
I’m in Blaine but I sneak over to mpls farmers market a couple times a summer...always packing heat...
“””””””’I live 20 away from Minneapolis and even I won’t visit there! “””””””””””
I’m in Minnetonka but have to go into Miunneapolistan often.
Mostly into the U of M hospital/ clinic area. It’s not part of Minnesota, it’s a completely different world. Also, the wife takes the Somali Trolley daily from downtown St. Paul to the Vikings Stadium. She has a thousand stories about that jungle ride.
There are so many farmer’s markets here, south of the river that I have no need to venture north.
The refugee population has spread far outside of Minneapolis. The red suburbs are now purple-ish-blue.
I’m 50 miles away, and sometimes wonder if I’m too close.
I have a sister that takes trains and busses to work downtown.
I’ve heard ‘em all.
:-)
Know what you mean.
I would go far, far away if my sister wasn’t so reliant on me.
Minnesota virtue signalling.
How to turn your city into a hell hole in one easy lesson.
Bet the Council & Mayor be creating settlements in “their” neighborhoods.
Sarcasm noted.
The city council have been busy little beavers lately:

“”Walz on Friday said The inn is not full in Minnesota.””
That is so clever. That man has a future - barf!
Why can’t we just designate the state of MN the “refugee state”? Round them all up from the other 49 states and plant them all in ONE and be done with them! They can figure out how to take care of them. They are NOT OUR PROBLEM!
Of course, we’d get all of you NORMAL Minesotans out of there first...to a warmer climate?
Some days, it seems like they already have.
