In a surprise move that outraged his Republican colleagues, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler broke up a marathon impeachment hearing shortly before midnight Thursday without allowing members to cast their planned votes on articles of impeachment against President Trump.
After more than 14 hours of brutally partisan debate, Nadler suddenly gaveled out the hearing and told the panels 40 members to return at 10 a.m. Friday for a vote on the articles.
It is now very late at night. I want members on both sides of the aisle to think about what has happened over these last days and to search their consciences before we cast our final votes, Nadler (D-N.Y.) said before recessing, prompting gasps and shouts from the committees Republicans. Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the panels top Republican, told reporters outside the hearing room that Nadlers integrity is gone.
This committee is more concerned about getting it on TV in the morning than it was finishing its job tonight and letting the members go home, Collins said. "Words cannot describe how inappropriate this was
Im just beyond words at this point.

House Judiciary Committee unexpectedly delays planned vote on Trump articles of impeachment after marathon hearing
There's that word again...
the rumor is that some members of the committee were leaving tomorrow for Europe and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Bulge.
If so, then Nadler is a piece of sh*t! But also possible some cold feet and he may not have the votes.
They just want to stage it during the day to grab microphone time. Jackasses.
The British vote, the USMCA, the China trade agreement.
Got to take the vote in the morning to get within a day’s news cycle.
Does he just want to lose it in the weekend news cycle?
Maybe Mrs Botox read the tea leaves and pulled the plug?
There is zero upside for the Rats going to the Senate with this. It will only show the world exactly what they are.
Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the panels top Republican, told reporters outside the hearing room that Nadlers integrity is gone.
...
I didn’t know he had any integrity to lose.
WINNING !
The Democrats hold 24 seats on the Judicially Committee, and the Republicans hold 17 seats. It you had just four Democrats who vote ‘no’...the Committee can’t move the package to the House.
Scanlon (D) from Penn might be a ‘no’...she marginally won her last election. Stanton (D) from Arizona is another possibility.
Yes, the momentum shift feels great!!
Maybe Nadler will have another fainting spell overnight and need to spend a few days in the hospital recovering, delaying the process further. I suppose it’s not wise to be tempting faith for wishing such a thing, but these criminals are directing the collapse of this country.
That might be the best solution for the dems...not to vote it out of committee. It's a win-win for them. They can say "we tried" and that they did their due process. Shuts down AOC and her ilk cause there's no way they'll do it again after this. The fact that they're passing two huge Trump bills also makes me think that they believe Trump is going to be around to sign them.
I am surprised the DEMs put anyone on the judiciary after the 2018 elections, knowing fully well they would impeach Trump, who might even consider voting against the articles. This should be a slam dunk. The rest is just theatrics.
They believe there are upsides for them.
Trump is the socialist’s Goldstein. /1984
Ha, ha. Dims getting cold feet?
Or was it something else that got their attention?
Turtle comes on Hannity tonight, and announces the Senate will follow Trump’s wishes and allow a full senate trial with witnesses.
Hmmm...
A Senate trial - as McConnel said today he would allow - would show far too many low info Rats the truth. Assuming even a small percentage of them have the cognitive skills to absorb even the tiniest bit of truth, the Rats cant afford that loss.
That is so much sweetness. Can you imagine the hurt that a full trial can put on the Democrats? Did Nadler postpone AFTER McConnell said this or before?
More accurate - the Uniparty can’t afford this loss.
