326 seats have just been declared for the Conservatives. This is a majority. They have won.
Counting continues to determine the size of the majority.
This is a positive sign for us for 2020. The same economic and social forces are often at play in both the U.S. and the U.K. It doesn’t always line up perfectly, but you can see parallels... The ‘50s was a sort of moderate-conservative era when both Eisenhower and Churchill represented the center-right in the respective countries. In the ‘60s, you had an ascendant center-left (Kennedy/Johnson in the U.S. and Harold Wilson in the UK). The early ‘70s center-right (Nixon and Ted Heath), with the late ‘70s center-left (Jimmy Carter and Wilson/Callaghan). And of course the big one... Reagan and Thatcher being near ideological twins in the ‘80s. With the ‘90s, you had an ascendant center-left (Clinton and Blair). Lucky for the UK, they managed to skip their own Obama. And now we have the era of Trump and Boris... scorned by the liberal chattering classes but favored by the patriots of their respective nations.

I was on Skype chatting with my friends from Bristol a few hours ago, they were all exited in anticipation of a conservative win. I know they’ll be thrilled to hear the news when they wake up in a couple of hours.
Do they have the same degree of cheating that our dims have in place?
The British People punished them for the attempted coup! We will punish the Democrats next Nov!

The funny thing is, walking around here in London, outside of a few billboards for the Conservatives, you really wouldn’t have known that an election was going on.
