Opinion: Lindsey Graham can’t stop spinning and panting and disgracing himself — just like Trump
LA TIMES ^ | 12/12/2019 | Virginia Heffernan

On Wednesday, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, kicked off a hearing about the Trump-Russia probe by bewailing government surveillance.

He sounded like a downright radical.

He likened what the FBI did to poor Russia-connected Trump adviser Carter Page in 2016 to what J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI did to Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s.

Sure, Lindsey.

Reminder: In 1964, J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI sent King an anonymous letter, calling him “sexually psychotic” and urging him to commit suicide.

Graham, of course, has long been a passionate supporter of the NSA surveillance program and the Patriot Act. So not only was his comparison of Page to King invidious, but his fakey concern for people’s privacy was also pathetic.

And then Graham launched into a dramatic reading of private texts.

Wanna guess whose texts? Yep: those exchanges between former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and former FBI agent Peter Strzok, in which they criticize Trump.

As the public well knows, Trump has harbored a prurient obsession with these texts for years. At a Minnesota rally in October, he even did an impression of Page and Strzok writing texts, during which the president of the United States, in front of a crowd of thousands, panted through a fake orgasm.

And now Graham reintroduced the Page-Stzrok texts in the hearing room Wednesday to push back on the findings of the report that was the occasion for the day’s hearing.

The hearing was convened to discuss the “Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation,” issued by the office of the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz.

Somehow, Graham neglected to read other texts quoted in Horowitz’s review — the ones that show how pro-Trump FBI agents worked in tandem with the Trump-Russia

CNN covered the hearing, but made sure they didn’t show Graham’s opening remarks. How much more blatant can they get?

Heh, now that right there is a case of a small black hole calling the kettle black.

Hey LA times “reporters”, get out there and help your city by cleaning some Obamastuff off of your streets. Oh, and pick up some of those drug needles while you’re at it. After all, those journalism degrees aren’t doing anything useful.

Why s the LA Times letting 6 yr olds write columns?? Anyone 7 and over should be able to read, especially where it says the CARTER PAGE WARRANT WAS FRAUDULENT and there NEVER was any Russian Collusion, except with Hillary and the DNC

The FBI used the fraudulent Steele Dossier, knowing it was fake, to get the warrants. They suppressed exculpatory evidence to renew the warrants

Time to stop being mindless political bigots Fake News. Just this ONE time stop and think.

Change only ONE thing about this report. Instead of Candidate Trump imagine it was Candidate Obama or Candidate Sander or Candidate Clinton being spyed on by the US Governments Law Enforcement arm

Stop your habitual childish partisan bot political behavior for “your team” and think about that hard “Journalists”.

Really think this sort of criminal corruption in the legal arm of the US Govt is “No big deal” just because it was “your team” that was doing it?

Not surprising the rabid Dems are air brushing the reported document forgery. It’s like it was never reported.

Trump’s impeachable crime!!! #Impeach45!

To quote a well known historical figure... who no one would equate with Trump with one possible tiny exception... IMHO (Modifications mine):

And Orange Man went into the temple of DeeCee and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers!
And said unto them: “It is written (in Constitution)… My house shall be called the house for and by the people; but ye have made it a den of thieves!”

P.S. Mitch the Turtle should dismiss the trial quickly! Before the next question: are there enough GOP senators on Jeffery Epstein’s client list to convict?

They don’t even write this stuff. Writers from the shadow government send out the talking points scripts and outlines. One massive counterintelligence operation from the “Interagency” command and control.
