Oracle, a major Silicon Valley tech company, will move its annual OpenWorld conference to Las Vegas next year – over concerns about San Francisco’s hotel rates and the city’s “poor street conditions,” according to reports.
The loss of OpenWorld, which has been held in San Francisco for about 20 years, is raising new concerns about whether the city’s struggles with homelessness, open drug use and street violence may be scaring off tourism and other business, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
“For the industry, for the city, to have a major conference leave us impacts all of us,” Kevin Carroll, chief executive of the Hotel Council of San Francisco, which represents hotel owners, told the newspaper.

Keeping city roads in good shape is just so conservative.
I’ll forecast that within ten years...SF is more like Baltimore. Property values will decay and tourism revenue shrinks to almost nothing.
Uh, it’s not the, er, potholes and cracks that are the problems, Secret Agent Man. It’s the crackheads using the streets for potties.
The city by the bay can only afford so many sanitation workers in full body hazmat suits being paid almost $250,000 a year including benefits to collect human feces and wash down urine with high pressure steam hoses. . . twice a day.
Sadly the insane ideas of the voting public will leave settle somewhere else and do the same.

Yep, I was out there a couple of weeks ago for a big conference. Stayed in an old hotel on Market St. It is beyond depressing to have to walk by insane, hopeless people camped out on the street in the midst of all that booming wealth. It is so sad that these poor souls are used essentially as props or street art to further the leftist agenda.
We used to go to S.F. and spend a few days before we went up to the wine country. Not any more. Even eight years ago there was Sh!t in the streets, can’t imagine what it is like now.
Why spend money on streets when SF has the welfare of their beloved perverts to contend with
SanFran *poor street conditions* = too much human poop to step over.
They decided to hold the conference in Mumbai instead. It’s cleaner.
I still go to SF, but rarely venture out of the Marina District.
