The House is expected to vote Wednesday on the hilariously misnamed Farm Workforce Modernization Act, which would modernize agricultural labor right back to the 17th century. At the core of the bill are several indentured-labor schemes intended to tie current illegal aliens and future temporary workers to farm jobs for four to ten years before giving them Green Cards.

“If is wasnt for illegals in Wisconsin, there would be no dairy industry.”
Incredibly stupid comment. If there were NO illegals in Wisconsin, American citizens would fill those jobs. Either at higher wages, with increased cost to consumers or with current deadbeat welfare recipients who’d take the work to avoid starvation under a just economic system.
Can you say millions of new DEMOCRAT VOTERS
We will be the wage slaves to build their global empire. Somebody has to feed all these criminal migrants.
How can I get 6 or so indentured massage therapists?
Remember the old days when we had Migrant Workers? Too many of them stayed and would bring more which is how we got to where we are. Closing the border with a wall and allowing this is kinda the same thing only controlled.
Farm automation is still occurring.
How long do H1B visa holders get held to a job?
I despise this crap.
What are you talking about? This is the root problem.
As a licensed tradesman, average pay for my skillset has fallen from 30 dollars an hour to 18 as illegal migrants take over the construction industry. They do not have to take annual classes or pay for licensing and instead of years of training under an apprenticeship system they build by crapmanshift.
80% of the construction crew are Hispanic workers and half of them do not speak english.
The programmers are H1B workers, the .millwrights conveyer assemblers and electricians are all mexicans because without all the licence requirements and taxes and paperwork overhead they work cheap.
It is the Americans sweeping the floors and doing site grunt work because in the name of diversity all the illegal cheap workers are given a pass.
Diversity, and PROFIT.
Citizens are screwed.
Farm machinery is expensive and is made in America, slaves are cheap and made in Mexico.
I am bothered by any accommodation for illegal aliens.
ALL of them need to be removed.
Democrats, AND BUSH LEAGUE REPUBLICANS working hard to bring back slavery.
A lot longer than the American worker they replaced at half price. Of such are the uber wealthy made, half price second class citizen wages make the industrialist a very wealthy man.
The author, Mark Krikorian, has been on the side of the citizens and the rule of law fighting amnesty for decades.
Not sure how he gets published there.
National Review is usually a mouthpiece for the Cheap Labor Express.
Micro Rubio and Flimsey Grahamnesty can’t wait to vote for this.
Bush League Republicans will take any amnesty they can get, that’s why they refused to take Obama to court over DACA.
If we keep re-electing these guys, they WILL give our country away.
Re: How long do H1B visa holders get held to a job?
If you mean can someone with a work visa quit one job to take a better job, the answer is yes.
However, there are a lot of details that must be followed exactly, or else your legal status in the USA can be revoked.
Farm workers have a H2A visa.
H2A visas can be renewed up to three years. Then, the worker must leave the USA for 3 months.
If you were referring to the “high skill” H1B visa, that can be renewed up to six years.
If your H1B employer agrees to sponsor you for a Green Card, you can stay indefinitely until your Green Card is issued.
I don’t think H2A visa holders can apply for Green Cards, but I do not know that for certain.
He used to be a passionate hawk on every immigration issue.
Then, National Review started drifting to the center on immigration issues.
Then, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) decided that Krikorian’s Center for Immigration Studies was a hate group, and the SPLC did everything they could think of to destroy Krikorian’s corporate funding.
Krikorian buckled under the pressure and has conspicuously moved to a centrist position.
I sympathize with any man who suddenly and unjustly finds his livelihood under threat.
On the other hand, Krikorian and the Center for Immigration have done almost nothing consequential in the last 5 years.

Sorry to hear that, they were one of the strongest allies of the citizens and the rule of law.
Re: Average pay
A couple years ago, here in Seattle, we had an elementary school being built with a federal grant.
The Seattle Times published the wage scale...
Every licensed tradesman was getting over $50 an hour.
Electricians were getting above $60.
The irony is unbearable - government policies flood the entire country with cheap labor. But, to work on a government project, you are required to belong to a union!
Re: they were one of the strongest allies of the citizens and the rule of law.
Yes they were.
They focus entirely on academic studies now.
Their choice of studies remains Conservative, but their political opinions are basically neutral.
Bush league Republicans are, like the Democrats, full on Globalists.
Traitors all
