One of the express purposes, not the only reason mind you, for us having the Second Amendment is to form a militia against exactly this kind of BS from a government. A foreign government, or our own government.

Tanks are only good if their support survives. Support usually isn’t as well armored or trained. Tanks will eventually need fuel and food for the crews. Today’s tanks run on JP instead of diesel so it’s not as readily available.
