The collapse of the figurative and literal wall between East and West Germany was chief among the upheavals in those final weeks of 1989. Not even a year out of office and Reagan was magnificently proven correct in his understanding of basic humanity: people want to be free. Apart from one major exception, the oppressed behind the Iron Curtain that autumn overcame their regimes without bloodshed and violence.
I was in high school during the fall of communism across Eastern Europe. I could not then imagine that precisely thirty years later a caricature of upheaval would be transpiring in my own country.
“Resist!” is screamed by media personalities and celebrities and politicians who in a sane world would never win a race for city lieutenant sanitation commissioner. They betray ignorance of what real dictatorship is, as they dare ascribe the gravitas of 1989's righteous rebellions upon their own crusade.
When I consider Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, and Jerry Nadler maneuvering for impeachment of President Donald Trump, it is with some dark bewilderment. They have no idea what disaster they are courting for themselves and their allies. It will not end well for them.
It is a disaster already. Television ratings for the House's impeachment inquiry have cratered. I have heard absolutely nobody in the real world gushing breathlessly over Trump's pending downfall. The pundits are lamenting that the American people are not taking this revolution seriously.

The author notes that the complaint of the "media" is that the American people aren't taking the impeachment proceedings seriously. I think they are, just not in the way the media would like to see it.
I catch your seriousness.
That is why they must be destroyed. For the good of the Republic the left must be ground into the dust that is then salted. The current uproar is proof the left is antiAmerican and undeserving of survival.
None can be called Americans any more. They are UK/Euro wannabes. They are in fact American enemies more dangerous to the Republic than russia or Iran or China
I fully expect the Democrats to lose in 2020. But if the Democrats are even around to field a candidate in 2024 then I think we will have failed. The Democrats must case to exist. They cannot be a viable party. They have to be like Hitler’s SS — hated and disavowed by the entire population.
When the wall came down in Germany the people overran Stasi headquarters and seized all the documents before the East German Deep State could destroy them.
Something like that needs to happen here.
I'm not sure what make the author thinks we are witnessing the "fall" of the deep state. The fall will only occur when the criminals who perpetrated this coup are held accountable to the law. That is not happening. The reality is the people have not laid a hand on the deep state and they are only going to up their game. We need to remember the deep state is in near complete control of our government and they have a huge force of heavily armed agents willing to do their bidding. The author states "Happily, counterrevolutions rarely succeed without overwhelming firepower" and it's this truth that is going to be the spark to violence from the deep state. The deep state believes they have that overwhelming firepower and they are not afraid to use it. This is evidenced by the sudden proclamation by so many democrats that the government is going to out right TAKE guns away from the people. They say this because the believe they have the power to do it. This should be a major red flag to everyone as to the danger this deep state controlled government poses to we the people.
If President Trump wins a second term he better get real busy and pull no punches. Traitors must be held accountable with prosecutions and prison. Then we need gun control. Yes gun controls on the federal government, not the people. The hundreds of alphabet soup agencies must be disarmed or eventually they will be used against the people. If that sounds crazy well just take a look at how reasonable this government was with roger stone.
Amen...... the current game is being played for all the marbles and the reality that is America.

Christopher Knight, like all others, think these people are clueless and naïve to the consequences of their actions. Bull crap. Their underestimation by others is their super power. They know exactly what they are doing.
It's simple. Walk through a ghetto after midnight and you get mugged. Wander through a ghetto after midnight, wide, shifting crazy eyes, drooling and rambling on talking to yourself and the local hoods will be afraid to go near you. Adam Schiff knows this.
The conservatives biggest mistake is that they assume others see what they see and instead of acting, they let nature take it's course. Sometimes nature needs a little nudge in the right direction.
We should “do a Ceausescu” to the leaders of the coup, starting with John Brennan and Adam Schiff, then every other Deep State plotter we can find.

Knight is appallingly-naive, or shockingly-confused. “Deep state” isn’t going anywhere and his attempt to portray parallels between the fall of communism and our system is rather juvenile: “Deep state” controls Washington - and the populace - not the other way around.
The Awan Bros. scandal and non-investigation thereof - as well as the psy-ops ongoing against the electorate - are elephant-in-the-room-sized clues to the reality, considering that the intelligence & propaganda methods - to state nothing of the targets on the Hill themselves - really only benefits one government:
Ours.
The one man who could make a difference has been on constant defensive since being elected. Ironically, I truly believe that the Russians helped elect Trump, much to the chagrin of FR Russia-haters, and is itself the catalyst for the reaction now known as Crossfire Hurricane.

That it has the hallmarks of a multinational intelligence op is a gross-understatement. All Horowitz accomplished was confirming what we already suspected: It was a conspiracy.
