Portland, Oregon, like many cities on the left coast, is struggling with a growing homelessness crisis. But what can they do about it? One idea thats now being floated is to change the building codes so that all new structures (including private property, not just government buildings) include spaces for people to rest and feel welcome and safe. This understandably has prospective property owners concerned, since the wording is all quite vague and suggests that they will be forced to allow the homeless to camp in and around their buildings. (KATU News)
The obvious questions are already being raised. What specifically does rest mean in this context? Does that mean that new buildings will have to include spaces for the unhoused (their word) where they will be protected from the weather? Thats basically just an invitation for people to come trespass and stay there.

Regards,
Im tired of them called homeless
Psychotic or doped or drunk
Vagrants who steal
Its ridiculous we tolerate these asswipes
They need to be institutionalized
Thy are already called “outhouses”. Might as well crap up all the other clean areas. Portland, gives new meaning to “stinking city” and “shithole”.
Could you imagine having your wife and children stepping over the homeless drug addicted, mentally ill camping on your front lawn every morning going to school and work?
There is little incentive for people to buy homes anymore; the new income tax plan really drove a stake through the heart of what was already a problematic area. People often bought homes when they had families, a reasonable expectation that they’d be within commuting distance of decent jobs, and tax benefits to doing so; that is all off the table now. Few people have children, jobs move about much more easily than in the past with less geographical considerations necessary, and there is no longer a tax incentive to do so.
Take use of any ones private property?
Utter BS but what can be expected of Oregon's San Francisco.
Yeah with all of the Wesen (Vesen) that have been seen there, there is no way I would live in that town. Spookyville.
Disclaimer: you had to watch the series Grimm to understand......but this shift is real.
Yeah baby.....!!!! TRE for sure
Note tagline.
The end goal of these communists is to eliminate private property. They can’t do that just yet. So they take it a little at a time. They use nice words, like “rest” but they are taking away your rights over your private property. They keep doing this, and pretty soon you don’t own your “private property” but are paying taxes on it and are financially liable.
Already, throughout the country, they have been successful with their long-term seizure of your home, disguised with the nice name “property tax.” It isn’t. It’s confiscation of about 3% a year of the value of your property, so at the end of 33 years, they have taken 100% of its value.
Their eyes are on the goal. Everything they do leads us closer to their goal.
The dude in the picture looks like he traveled all the way from the early 90s - no wonder he needs a rest.
I was out on Sandy Hook NJ, which at one time was part of the NYC Harbor defenses — large mortar installations, etc.
It is covered with poison ivy, poison sumac, cactus, brambles, scorpions, and every other nasty thing you can think of. I’m sure there are no homeless people there.
Oops, I might have gave them more stupid ideas!!
If they can force folks to accommodate them, sure, why not force folks to feed them, too? Then they have residency and they become the property owner’s responsibility and liability.
That’s the magic of socialism! /s
