The party constantly lecturing America on the importance of diversity is set to have an all-white debate stage in the upcoming Democratic presidential debate scheduled for Dec. 19th.
"Diversity is a strength!" doesn't seem to be resonating much with the Democratic Party these days. The candidates who currently qualify for the upcoming debate are Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar, as well as South Bend Mayor Peter Buttigieg and hedge fund billionaire Tom Steyer.
The best part is watching the Democratic candidates squirm to explain why the process has weeded out any people of color two months before the first caucus takes place in Iowa. On Friday, Joe Biden admitted the current crop of candidates is "not representative of the party" but quickly added that "you can't dictate who is going to be the nominee, who's going to be able to garner votes, who's going to be able to stay in the race."

The Democratic Party has been a big tent in tension since Jackson.
At the Klanbake, tt took 103 ballots for the Klan to deny the nominationto Al Smith not only because he was Catholic and wet but because one of his main thrusts in his campaign was opposition to lynching and racial violence. Running on such a platform it was impossible for him to cobble together two-third of the delegagtes in 1924.
Smith was nominated in 1928, and five southern states decided that a Protestant of the party of Lincoln was more tolerable than a Papist of the party of Jeff Davis (who was educated by Dominicans, for better or worse).

Obama was almost successful with his attempts at running the country into the ground...And we're still trying to deal with his "success" in every facet of our government.
Uh, Joe? That's what the national committee does. It distributes funding and controls the votes of superdelegates in order to do so. It controls who gets what exposure in the media and onstage at the debates. If you're there it's because they want you to be.
This year the Dems have decided not to let the superdelegates vote in the first ballot, reserving that for the votes afterward in the case of a contested nomination, that is, where nobody gets a clear majority on the first ballot, which given the number of candidates is very likely. And the DNC is, by all reports, still broke enough to allow someone to saunter in and purchase those votes as Hillary did last time. This entire structure is designed to allow them to "dictate who is going to be the nominee".
The Republicans don't use superdelegates, which potentially places them in the position of an outsider coming in with a majority who is entirely out of the RNC's control. Somebody like Trump. And they've been bitching and moaning about it ever since.
