The gunman who opened fire Friday morning at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida, fatally shooting three people, has been identified as an aviation student from Saudi Arabia as investigators are looking into whether the attack is terrorism-related.
The gunman was confronted and taken out by a pair of responding officers. Two people were killed at the scene while a third victim died after being rushed to a local hospital. Seven others suffered injuries and are undergoing treatment, including the two officers, one of whom was shot in the arm and the other in the knee. Both are expected to survive.
This is a tragic day for the city of Pensacola we are a military town, our hearts and prayers are connected to all those that serve us every single day, the citys mayor, Grover Robinson, told reporters during a press conference Friday. We will overcome this, but today this is certainly a tragic day.
NAS Pensacola is home to the Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity's International Training Center, which the Navy says was established in 1988 to meet the aviation-specific training needs of international officers and enlisted students from allied nations.

“King Salman of Saudi Arabia just called to express his sincere condolences and give his sympathies to the families “
That’s gotta be a comfort. /s Crack open your checkbook asshole. 10 million per victim might be a start to show us how sad you really are.
This very intelligent statement from the Paul Ryan Fox News needs repeating...
"...an aviation student from Saudi Arabia as investigators are looking into whether the attack is terrorism-related."
How does that old saying go? "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it..." (Or something like that...)
As much as I dont trust and would never completely turn my back on a follower of Mohamed, Saudi has been an ally and a host for our forces through both Gulf Wars 1 and 2, and the govt, though not necessarily all its people, have been supportive of efforts in the region to stop radical islamics and terrorists.
The KSA is useful at times, thats about as much as you can credit them for.
I suspect that will happen.
Your response is not a reasoned one. We have been training foreign military individuals, since before World War II. Some of them became loyal allies of the USA and have led their countries to support us worldwide. Some have become enemies, and a very few have done something like this.
When I was in school at Ft. Benning, we had a Saudi Prince in the course and we had quite a few Iranian officers, who were in the Shah’s Army. The Prince has been a staunch ally of the U.S. Unfortunately, the Iranian officers were all executed when the Shah fell. Sometimes it sucks to be a friend of America.
Having said all I said in 44, Trump is about the only person I can think of who could force a review of the entire State/DoD program that these exchanges take place under. The Sauds are perfectly capable of paying some other country to train their pilots.
“The way that program works is that the foreign government has to certify that these are the best of their best, that these are their future generals and admirals and senior military officials for their countries,” said U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R, Fla.). The U.S. State Department does a scrub on those prospective trainees, and after that they matriculate into the program.”

If that is the case the Saudi vetting program is unreliable, perhaps he was the son of someone special?
Thanks very much. ATTACK on Americans continues, UNCHALLENGED.
Its total BS and every red blooded American knows it.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You won’t get any argument from me. 17 of the buggers, many aviation trained in Florida, did the Twin Towers and the rest of 9/11.
Something must change.
Al-Shamrani is an Arabic surname that is given to those who are a part of the Arabic tribe known as Shamran that exists in the southern part of modern-day Saudi Arabia.
Not much in Arabic yet, but there is a picture of him (taken from NBC) in this site from the area https://www.almashhad-alyemeni.com/151724
This might be his twitter account https://web.archive.org/web/20191206211844/https:/twitter.com/M7MD_SHAMRANI/status/1202930479089037312 and if that is the case he is an islamist.
As of right now...over 1300 great posts/information here...

If this is a picture of him (to the right) https://albiladdaily.com/2019/12/07/%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b4%d9%85%d8%b1%d8%a7%d9%86%d9%8a-%d8%a5%d9%84%d9%89-%d8%b1%d8%aa%d8%a8%d8%a9-%d9%85%d9%82%d8%af%d9%85/ then someone should have a talk with the Al-Qunfudah Governorate Police and the person to the left.
Thanks again, AdmSmith. More info, truth the better.

Thanks for the ping!
The ban is nationwide, BTW. We can thank GHWB and Bubba for it.
