Sometimes, MSNBC analysts manage to pack an unbelievable amount of stupid into a short amount of time. Such was the case on Tuesday as Donny Deutsch ranted about Republicans bringing metaphorical machine guns to the impeachment fight, the country not surviving Donald Trump, and how the “facts” and “laws” “are not going to protect us.
Replying to Deadline: White House guest Heidi Przybla, Deutch fumed that simple “facts and the laws are not going to protect us right now” from Trump. So, what should be done instead? He continued, using violent imagry: “And the point being for the Democrats, we need to twist and meld and work. We are fighting against an enemy, the Republicans, with machine guns and we can't bring a knife to it.”
But, don’t fret. Lest you think Deutsch is suggesting anything radical, he added: “I'm not saying do anything dishonest. But we have to find a way to take what is happening there and make it so compelling to the voter because otherwise we're going to get more years of Donald Trump. And we can't survive for you more years.”
Host Nicolle Wallace picked up on the conspiratorial tone, hinting at the coming dictatorship of Trump: “Four? If you run your thread, could be 14.”
Perhaps Deutsch believes his hyperbole. In October, he warned of “all-out dictator” Trump being like Nazi Joseph Goebbels.
Later In Tuesday's show, guest Al Sharpton blamed the failure of Kamala Harris’s campaign on... the media:

Even if tarriffs did increase prices, at least the consumer would end up with the product they paid for. With tax increases, the taxpayer almost never gets the results they were told the increases was going to pay for.
