~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Luke Air Force Base, Arizona Luke Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located 7 miles west of the central business district of Glendale, in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. It is about 15 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona.
Luke AFB is a major training base of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), training pilots in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. On 31 March 2011 it was announced that the F-35 Lightning II would replace the F-16 as the primary training aircraft at Luke, although the date of deployment of the new aircraft to Luke and reorganization plans were not announced. On 16 July 2013, the Air Force announced that Luke AFB will house a total of 144 F-35A Lightning IIs. The host unit, the 56th Fighter Wing, is tasked to train F-35 and F-16 fighter pilots and maintainers. Historically, the wing graduated more than 400 F-16 pilots and 470 crew chiefs annually. The 56th FW is composed of four groups, 27 squadrons, including six training squadrons. There are several tenant units on base, including the 944th Fighter Wing, assigned to 10th Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. The 56th Fighter Wing also trains more than 700 maintenance technicians each year. An integral part of Luke's F-16 fighter pilot training mission is the Barry M. Goldwater Air Force Range. The range consists of 1,900,000 acres of relatively undisturbed Sonoran Desert southwest of Luke Air Force Base between Yuma and Tucson south of Interstate 8. Overhead are 57,000 cubic miles of airspace where pilots practice air-to-air maneuvers and engage simulated battlefield targets on the ground. Roughly the size of Connecticut, the immense size of the complex allows for simultaneous training activities on nine air-to-ground and two air-to-air ranges. The Luke Air Force Base Range Management Office manages the eastern range activities and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma oversees operations on the western portion. Learn More About Luke Air Force Base HERE!! FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
Please remember: The Canteen is a place to honor and entertain our troops. The Canteen is family friendly. Let's have fun! We pray for your continued strength, to be strong in the face of adversity. We pray for your safety, that you will return to your families and friends soon. We pray that your hope, courage, and dignity remain unbroken, so that you may show others the way. No, I didn’t know that but I have him up now. He came on not long after I checked a little while ago.

Yep, he’s wound up. LOL
I’m not watching live. I went back to the beginning to catch everything, so I’m about 20 minutes behind what you’re seeing.

Hiya radu!
I'll tell ya, winter has arrived early here, it's cold and going to get colder.
Son's over for dinner and now we're playing 'save the world' video games.
Sorry for your cold weather. 😬

Hey there, PRO.
Saving the world again, are y’all? LOL! A good way to spend a wintry evening.
I hope your colder temps don’t plant to slip down here! Today was our coldest for this week. We’ll be in the mid to upper 50s the rest of the week beginning Wed. but they did mention another cold blast coming through next week. Guess we’d better enjoy the little warm spell while we can. :-)
I have a feeling we’re going to have a bitter winter this year. It’s been a while since we’ve had one and they do come around periodically. We’re due.
I do hope my feeling is wrong. LOL

Didn’t you hear what he said when he pulled it out of the fridge? It’s two weeks old. ergh! He then said he’d toss it at some point. Needs to do it tonight. It’s probably a “science project” by now. LOL

Well, he did put it back into the fridge so it wouldn’t get to room temp and really stink up the place. He probably threw it out when he went to buy groceries. It would definitely be inedible by now. Ack!

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Lauren for this morning's thread.
How's it going?

Inedible is an understatement. LOL
No telling what other “science projects” are in the fridge after him being gone for two weeks.

Was it another nice day at the lake? Or was it cold enough to stay home, like it is here?

We had some nice weather yesterday. Gizmo got to roll around a few dirty spots. He always loves to do that. We also hung out on the boat pier.

Well, I suggested in chat that he probably only had apples and water, since that’s the only thing I’ve actually seen him eat on the air. And there are those carrots. LOL! He is very health conscious, so I’m sure he won’t eat anything that might make him sick.
It was kind of a fun chat....very low key and as he said before, very “Lookner”.

Lucky you having nice weather. It wasn’t fit for man nor beast here.
So you took Gizmo where the dirty spots are that he loves to roll in, huh? Happy pooch! LOL

Yes, it was a fun chat though I wouldn’t call it low key. He was pretty fired up tonight. LOL! Probably happy to be home again, away from the family and the demands for his time. Now he can kick back and relax.

To: radu
Well, compared to AgendaFree, lt was low-key. But I’m sure he’s glad to be back home. He’s used to being on his own with no demands except the ones he puts on himself.
I’ll see ya tomorrow night for another fun quiz! LOL!
